dream and do update

Look who's now ready to endure humiliation! Haha! Obviously, I wasn't able to complete my 25 before 25 bucket list. Epic fail, I know. But though I wasn't able to complete them before  turning 25, I promise to complete them at least while I'm 25!

And just to check how far I've gone, I'm doing an update. Lesdothis, kamoowwn! :D

1. START A BLOG

        ✿  island hoping in cyberspace

2. LEARN HOW TO RIDE A BIKE
Tried once but I failed. To think, I badly wanted to learn it. Frustration at its finest.

        ✿  something darn frustrating

3. GO MOUNTAIN CLIMBING
Been to Mt. Batulao twice and to Mt. Pundaquit. I still won't consider myself a mountaineer though. Nangingibabaw ang kaartehan. Pasensya naman. :P

✿ day 1: mt. pundaquit trek - the hard way to get to anawangin
once is enough but twice isn't too much

4. GIVE COOKING A SHOT
Cooked carbonara for my papi on father's day. First attempt failed as it tasted like condensed milk rather than carbonara sauce. Second try succeeded. I should cook more often to really get use to it, I guess.

✿ for his special day, carbonara

5. ENROLL IN SWIMMING CLASSES
Yet another failed attempt! Me and my sister enrolled in a swimming class but we stopped after two sessions since we got so lucky with our instructor. For both of our sessions, she almost didn't go down the water and she kept complaining about how cold the water was. Anobee. There was also an instance that she didn't show up and didn't even inform us ahead of time. Better luck next time, girls.

6. BUY DEAR SELF A LAPTOP
I got myself a pink Samsung R440-JT08PH! Love love loveeeet! <3

          ✿ they come in pink

7. HAVE EMERGENCY FUNDS
Ok, I'm guilty. I still don't have emergency funds. I have savings, so little that it cannot be called an emergency fund. :s

8. EXPERIMENT WITH MY HAIR COLOR
Can you give me until the end of August to tick this off? And can you wish me enough determination to visit the salon? I am sooo lazzeehh.

9. EAT ANYTHING STRANGE/EXOTIC
I ate "nilasang na palaka" and "adobong baboy ramo" in Balaw Balaw. Aren't they strange?

          ✿ out-of-ordinary balaw balaw experience

10. BE CERTIFIED
I got IBM Certified Solution Designer - Rational Functional Tester for Java. Like anyone cares.

11. GET IMPORTANT IDs AND ACCOUNTS
SSS ID, Alumni ID, SM Advantage Card, Metrobank Direct, yadah yadah.

✿ they kind of remind me I am a grown-up already

12. GO SPELUNKING IN SAGADA
This is one hell of an experience I am very willing to do all over again. I had fun squeezing into tiny holes, easing through the rocks and rappelling. Feeling ko ang galing ko. I went out of the cave dry and feeling clean as I had no slips or whatever casualty. Yabang lang. >:P

✿ sagada day 2: certified spelunker, at least for a day

13. READ A BOOK
I got Nina Garcia's The Style Strategy, a less-is-more approach to staying chic and shopping smart. I'm actually applying what I learned from it. Teehee.

✿ what I almost never finished
          ✿ what apple wants

14. RUN A MARATHON
Joined Run for Pasig River and Bull Run. We also have a failed attempt in joining the Hyundai Run. Given the chance, I'll make this a regular activity.

✿ it could have been fun
✿ once is enough but twice isn't too much
          ✿ I think it's LOVE {for Mother Nature}

15. DO SOMETHING FOR MOTHER NATURE
Joined a tree planting activity sponsored by Accenture and held in Marikina Watershed. I actually felt like I risked my life for this one 'cos we planted wildlings in steep slopes with no one to assist us. Hope my wildlings will grow as useful trees someday.

          ✿ I think it's LOVE {for Mother Nature}

no sweat? not really!

16. VISIT TREE TOP ADVENTURE IN SUBIC
Went there with my shomimay last Christmas vacation. It was worth the travel all the way to Subic. I suggest you also get the complete package when you visit, aryt?

✿ how to survive your tree top adventure

17. IMPROVE MY ENGLISH SKILLS
This is hardly measurable so can you just let me tick this off? Haha! Before this blog, I can hardly come up with an article written in English. I have always believed I am no writer. To my surprise {and I guess to everyone's as well}, i can write pala - maski pano. phhbt!

18. RECONNECT WITH OLD FRIENDS

I am now reconnected with the best friend I didn't see for more than a year. I was with her during my Balaw Balaw adventure and just last week for my birthday. Yay to renewed friendship! ♥

          ✿ out-of-ordinary balaw balaw experience

 19. READ THE BIBLE
I have downloaded an e-bible. I have to admit I don't get to read it as often but I certainly seek words from it when I need help the most.

Sharing this..
Matthew 6:34
So, never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Sufficient for each day is its own badness.

20. JOIN VOLUNTEER WORKS
So near yet so far. I had my chance, I missed it. Better next time na naman?

21. BE STREET SMART

This is hardly measurable as well but I won't consider this a ticked off item just yet. I'll only do so once I can get to Makati alone without taking the cab. Yes, I am that stupid with directions and places.

22. SING IN THE VIDEOKE
Remember our crazy waka waka song and dance number? Haha! I'm uploading it again. Checkout our cuh-rey-ziness. No one will believe I'm a first timer. ;)

✿ crazy is as crazy as it can get

23. WATCH GOOD MOVIES
I honestly just watched popular movies just to tick this item off. Now I am addicted to watching movies. Bought new DVDs and currently downloading Love Happens.  Can't get enough of Jennifer Aniston.

          ✿ why just now..

24. PULL OFF A TWO PIECE SWIMSUIT
Just this summer, I bought several pairs of swimsuit. I especially love F&H's collection. Now I suddenly miss summer. Those were the months I have so much life. Stop me from ranting about work again, puhleeasse.

          ✿ summer's last hoorah, galera
          ✿ come rain or shine
✿ day 3: capones island - short side trip before we hurry home
✿ day 2: anawangin - lazeh beach bumming day

✔ 25. DECIDE FOR THE FUTURE
As much as I wouldn't like to admit, this is work related. I have decided. I just hope things would turn out as expected. Wish me luck.. and.. good future?! :P

There you goooo, 19/25. Tell me it's not bad! Tell meeee.. please?? Hahaha! And watch out for my next bucket list, 26 before 26. 'Cos I am enjoying this bucket list thing. You might wanna tryeeet!! ♥♥♥

messed up no more

Look who's back! Haha! I've been a bad blogger. I feel so messed up since July started hence so uninspired to write. Work almost took the life of me, I had to work for 12 or more hours a day for about two weeks. By the end of the second week, I am literally sick. I wasted the weekends getting decent rest and sleep. And I wasted the Monday after that by taking a sick leave and getting more rest. Work got piled up and other responsibilities {cleaning my room, fixing my closet, etc.} were left undone. Now, who wouldn't feel messed up? #endrant

The good thing is.. I filed a week-long vacation leave several months ago and it started last Monday. Yep, Monday. But is only now that I got inspired to blog. I guess I no longer feel messed up. Dapat lang. I already spent five days cleaning and fixing things in my rooms {at home and in the apartment}. I also went mall hopping to accomplish my "to buy" list. From laptop accessories, to my own accessories, to the needs of my closet, to make-ups, to toiletries, to new DVDs.. I can go on and on.

mickey mouse laptop sleeve, cuteness :D

girly girly laptop decals

Aside from my "to buy" list, I also have this "to do" list that got longer because of how busy I was. That includes having some clothes and shoes repaired, getting my clothes from the laundry shop, bringing home excess stuff from the apartment.. and have I mentioned cleaning my room and fixing my closet? Wheew!

can't get enough of them

because I missed wearing make-up

Now I have few more days to.. uhmm.. blog? I still have to do a bucket list update, which by the way I wasn't able to complete before turning 25. Epic Fail. But I promise to complete them at least WHILE I'm 25. Hahaha!

Got to go! I wonder what's for breakfast. :D

why just now..

...that I learned to love watching movies?

Obviously, this is for the love of my bucket list again {which by the way, i won't be able to finish on time. sue me!}. Goal # 23 says Watch good movies. I put it there because I know I'm really not into watching movies and that I've been missing a lot already.

Having said that, I had to force myself to do something towards the completion of this goal.  With force, I mean I had to drag myself to St. Francis to buy DVDs and learn how to download through Vuze. I didn't even  know something like that ever existed.

So with the combined power of pirated DVDs {oops!} and downloadable DVD rips i finally got a copy of  my all time favorite movies - So Close and Now and Then, and two movies I've been wanting to watch {just because they're popular} - Avatar and Kimmy Dora.

23. WATCH GOOD MOVIES
And with that I mean upcoming good movies and famous flicks from the past which I missed watching {for heaven's sake, why}. I'm really not much of a movie-goer, it just gets worse when a certain movie I missed watching suddenly becomes the talk of the town. Oh dear, I can remember Avatar. How it inched its way to the charts with me having no plans of watching it. Few days {or weeks, I dunno} after, every single bus I flop myself into has that movie in their television screens. Either I wasn't able to watch from the beginning or was not able to watch it until the end. Not to mention they have bad audio and video. So, even being able to almost watch it for like four or five times, I hella have zero understanding of the story. I can only remember green alien-looking creatures. Aside from Avi {Avatar, that is}, I also have Kimmy Dora in mind. Call me a loser but I did not get to watch it. Everyone was talking about it then. Repeating funny lines and laughing at the craziest scenes. I have yet to figure out if I was on Earth while it was selling like pancakes on the cinemas {wacha think?}. And speaking of good movies, I would also love to be a bedbug on weekends to watch again, for the nth time, movies like Now and Then and So Close. The latter being the only movie that made me cry, EVER. Urggh, I'm saying too much. Enough!

Surprisingly, I didn't stop after I was able to get what I originally intended to. I learned to love it as a past time I guess. Another good way to prevent myself from shopping aside from blogging, of course. I've been spending weekends for movie marathons, this weekend included. And if you haven't discovered, movies go best with MSG! Chips and dips, if you don't get what I mean. Hahaha!

just the right amount of MSG intake :P

too bad the baby munched on them too

And oh, before I end this random movie post, let me just share I finally have my favorite foreign actress in the form of Jennifer Aniston. I realized I like her while watching He's Just Not That Into You. I totally love the way she talks and the way she moves, sooo gorgeous. I've also seen Just Go With It. Yet again touched with the movie as it deals with the family. Any other Jennifer Aniston movie you'd suggest?
