the andy grammer obsession part 4

the andy grammer obsession part 3

Did you actually think that I'm done with this whole Andy Grammer thing? Nah-uuhhh!! I'm not stopping until I have documented every single song he has, or at least the ones I can find. Here's goes my OCD again. Hahaha!

For today, I'll be sharing the songs from his newest extended play - Crazy Beautiful. Just two songs, actually. This is going to be quick, I promise.

Third (?) EP: Crazy Beautiful (2013)

Track 01
Crazy Beautiful

Lyrics
She's got big brown eyes and tangled hair
Voguing in her underwear
And nothing is better
Than doing nothing together

Now she got a toothbrush as a microphone
Belting out the Rolling Stones
And I'm the last one to stop her
Can't believe that I got her

[Pre-Chorus]
We get so close
Kissing like eskimos
It's a little bit much, I know
I do

[Chorus]
Isn't she cra-crazy beautiful?
Isn't she strange, strange and wonderful?
I think I love her more than I even understand

[Verse 2]
She got a classic style that's all her own
A smile you can hear through the telephone
And she says she's a rebel
But she's way too sentimental

And she's precious even when she's mad
Gets angry and I start to laugh
And I know that it's nothing
She's just pushing my buttons

[Pre-Chorus]
We get so close
Kissing like eskimos
It's a little bit much, I know
I do

[Chorus]
Isn't she cra-crazy beautiful?
Isn't she strange, strange and wonderful?
I think I love her more than I even understand

Isn't she cra-crazy beautiful?
Isn't she strange, strange and wonderful?
I think I love her more than I even understand

[Bridge]
She's a little bit wild, a little bit mad, a little bit uh-oh beautiful
Wild, a little bit bad, a little bit uh-oh
And I never can know her too well
Oh still I never want anyone else

[Chorus]
Isn't she cra-crazy beautiful?
Isn't she strange, strange and wonderful?
I think I love her more than I even understand

Isn't she cra-crazy beautiful?
Isn't she strange, strange and wonderful?
I think I love her more than I even understand

[Ending]
She's a little bit wild, a little bit mad, a little bit uh-oh beautiful
Wild, a little bit bad, a little bit uh-oh
And I think I love her more than I even understand

Track 02
I Choose You

Lyrics
When we're born into this world
We don't really get to say
Little boys and little girls handed the brand new families
There comes a time in life
When we finally get to choose
And I choose you, I choose you

We can't give our two cents
Of how tall we want to be
We don't get an opinion
On our ethnicity
But the one we spend our life with
That we get to choose
And I choose, I choose you

I choose you, to be by my side
I choose you, to hold me at night
It's the biggest decision I'm about to get right
I choose you, I choose you

Everybody has one,
A choice they get to make
Half human half heaven
That decides the family tree
Now we all pick the branches
That then becomes the roots
I choose you, I choose you

I choose you, to be by my side
I choose you, to hold me at night
It's the biggest decision I'm about to get right
I choose you, I choose you

I was worried I would not know what to do
If I was in these shoes
Standing here it's clearer than the sky is blue
That I choose you, I choose you
With so little we control, thank God it's in the rules
We get to choose, and I choose you

I choose you, to be by my side
I choose you, to hold me at night
It's the biggest decision I'm about to get right
I choose you, I choose you

And heeey, have I told you I'm sick? Gaaah! Sick for the nth time this year. #fml

the andy grammer obsession part 3

the andy grammer obsession part 2

Just so you know, I hate unfinished businesses. So here I am again for the third installment of the Andy Grammer obsession series. I'm too lazy to research thought so we'll go mainstream today. I'll be posting songs from his first studio album,  Andy Grammer,  released on June 14, 2011. The first single was "Keep Your Head Up", the same song that made me research about him, the same song that I listened to over and over again few months back.

First Album: Andy Grammer (2011)
Source: Local Drive? Hehe! :P

Track 01
Keep Your Head Up
I've been waiting on the sunset
Bills on my mindset
I can't deny That they're gettin high
Higher than my income
my income's breadcrumbs
I've been trying to survive

The glow that the sun gives
Right around sunset
Helps me realize
This is just a journey
Drop your worries
You are gonna turn out fine.
Oh, you'll turn out fine.
Fine, oh, you'll turn out fine.

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.
you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.

I know it's hard, know its hard,
To remember sometimes,
But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.

I've got my hands in my pockets,
Kickin these rocks.
Its kinda hard to watch this life go by.
I'm buyin into skeptics,
Skeptics mess with, the confidence in my eyes

I'm seeing all the angles, starts to get tangled
I start to compromise
My life and the purpose.
Is it all worth it,
Am I gonna turn out fine?
Oh, you'll turn out fine.
Fine, oh, you'll turn out fine.

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.
you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.

I know it's hard, know its hard,
To remember sometimes,
But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.

Only rainbows after rain
The sun will always come again.
And its a circle, circling,
Around again, it comes around again.

Only rainbows after rain
The sun will always come again.
And its a circle, circling,
Around again, it comes around,

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.
you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.

I know it's hard, know its hard
To remember sometimes,
But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.

Keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.
Keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.
Keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down.

Track 02
Fine By Me

You're not the type
Type of girl to remain
With the guy, with the guy too shy
Too afraid to say, he'll give his heart to you forever
I'm not the boy that will fall to his knees
With his hands clasped tight
Begging, begging you please
To stay with him for worse and for better

But I'm staring at you now
There's no one else around
I'm thinking you're the girl for me

I'm just saying it's fine by me
If you never leave
And we can live like this forever
It's fine by me

In the past I would try
Try hard to commit to a girl
Wouldn't get too far
And it always somehow seemed to fall apart

But with you, with you, with you
I can see what I need
I can dream realistically
I knew that this was different from the start

And it seems that every time
We're eye to eye
I can find another piece of you
That I don't wanna lose

And I'm staring at you now
There's no one else around
I'm thinking you're the girl I need

I'm just saying it's fine by me
If you never leave
And we can live like this forever
It's fine by me

I'm just saying it's fine by me
If you never leave
And we can live like this forever
It's fine by me

And it's never easy
Darling, believe me
I'm as skeptical as you
When I think of life without 'us'
Seems like "what we supposed to do?"
But I don't wanna come on too strong

I'm just saying it's fine by me
If you never leave
We can live like this forever
It's fine by me

It's fine by me if you never leave
And we can live like this forever
It's fine by me
I'm just saying it's fine by me
If we never leave
And we can live like this forever
It's fine by me

Track 03
Slow

(Verse 1)
A charcoal heart that you can't ignore
Because you've been burned before
You tell me that everything that is good will end
You were building castles in the air
But they fell to the ground there was nothing there
You said you'd never get so close again

And lately, it's yellow lights and you're breaking
Say you just want to wait and see it all unfold
But baby when you find what you're seeking
Something you can believe in you just got to go

(Chorus)
So let's not take it slow
Let's not take it slow
I don't want to take it slow
Let's not take it slow

(Verse 2)
I don't want to rush your love
I can never get enough
I'm sitting outside your door
I give you everything you need
Sunshine, the world and all your dreams
So what are we waiting for

But lately, it's yellow lights and you're breaking
Say you just want to wait and see it all unfold
But baby when you find what you're seeking
Something you can believe in you just got to go

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
Waiting for the perfect storm
We've been slowly chasing love
Now it's time to cross the line
And I want more

But lately, it's yellow lights and your breaking
Say you just want to wait and see it all unfold
But baby when you find what you're seeking
Something you can believe in you just got to go

(Chorus)

Track 04
You Should Know Better

I'm on the phone; you turn your back on me
We're all alone, why is this happening
I never thought I would be questioning the one I, one I love

But here we are wrapped up in silence
Can we sound the alarm both so defiant and
Don't know where to start
I keep colliding with the one I, one I love

Don't make it so hard for me to stay

You should know better than that
Before you go on breaking my heart
And I fall even deeper in love
And my lungs screaming out can you hear me
You should know better than that
And here we are, here we are

If I could leave, I would be leaving
Cause I cannot believe what I am hearing
Tell me, how can it be
I'm second guessing on the one I, one I love

Don't make it so hard for me to stay

You should know better than that
Before you go on breaking my heart
And I fall even deeper in love
And my lungs screaming out can you hear me
You should know better than that
And here we are, here we are,
Here we are, here we are again

Some forgive just to forget
I have not forgotten yet, I still believe in you
But there is a crack in our cement
This time it's permanent, permanent

You should know, you should know better than that
Before you go on breaking my heart
And I fall even deeper in love
And my lungs screaming out can you hear me
You should know better than that
And here we are, here we are,
Here we are, here we are again

You should know better than that
And here we are, here we are,
Here we are, here we are again

You should know better than that

Track 05
Lunatic

(Verse 1)
I've got five bucks sitting at a coffee shop
I just wrote a lyric that made me stop
Think about the world and what I got
It's a beautiful, beautiful day
I've got dreams for food and hope for drink
A new chance coming every time I blink
Sunset dripping off the thoughts I think
It's a beautiful, beautiful day

And maybe I should care more about safety
But I can't ignore or betray these voices singing

(Chorus)
You can do this, you can do this
You are not a lunatic
Crazy would be changing your mind
You can do this, you can do this
You are not a lunatic
Crazy would be leaving it behind

(Verse 2)
I've got five bucks waiting on a matinee
I love to see films in the middle of the day
Same movie seen a different way
I don't think that makes me crazy
And I start work on the opposite side, of the clock
Tic tock clubs open at nine
I like to rock till the early daylight
Write music till five, this is my life

Maybe I should care more about safety
But I can't ignore or betray these voices singing

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
I will wiggle in a straight jacket forever
This is not some slight disease we can try and cure
This is one thing in my life that I know for sure
There is no turning back now

And maybe I should care more about safety
But I can't ignore or betray these voices singing

(Chorus)

Track 06
Miss Me

I wake up and I'm sober
Don't even know you anymore
Punch drunk on a feeling
Lost in believing I was sure

I don't care what you have to say
Damn words get in the way, I don't wanna know
I know there'll come a time
When I look you in the eyes and say, "I told you so"

And I promise you this
You're gonna miss me, miss me
As long as you live
You're gonna miss me, miss me
Oh

Set me up for the falling
Gave me no warning, you were gone
Let me down, I was reading
I can't believe what you have done

Go do what you've gotta do
Damn words will follow you everywhere you go
And I know there'll come a time
When I look you in the eyes and say, "I told you so"

And I promise you this
You're gonna miss me, miss me
As long as you live
You're gonna miss me, miss me
Oh

I believe in my heart
When something's wrong, say it's wrong
I can deal with the part
When something's wrong if we both stay strong
I know there will come a time
When I look you in the eyes and say, "I told you so"

And I promise you this
You're gonna miss me, miss me
As long as you live
You're gonna miss me, miss me
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh

I wake up and I'm sober

Track 07
The Pocket

Do you want to be my love, my sight, my heart, and my eyes
My world, my pride, my stars in my skies
I'm looking for a queen who's more than gorgeous on a movie screen
I'm looking for the covergirl of dignified beauty magazine

I want dimples, and simple symbols that she's sweet
Wrinkles her nose, expose what I mean
I'm looking for a four-course meal that isn't based in base desire
I'm looking for a lady that knows the soul is more than an appetizer

Just one more thing
Just one more thing

Do we fit in the pocket, can we fix it back in the pocket
When the dreams and the drums start rocking
Can we dance with our knees not knocking
See I, I want a lady I can put stock in
I want a bass and backbeat to lock in
I want to know real love's not forgotten

I want a teacher who's eager to speak her mind
Delicate features, sweet with her tongue so kind
I'm looking for the markers that say "permanent" so we can share
I'm looking for a love still alive and well in rocking chairs
I want faithful, and stable, and able
Beauty that moves me and improves my soul

I'm looking for a shining light that likes to fight and persevere
I'm looking for a lady that wants to make me part of her atmosphere

Just one more thing
Just one more thing

Do we fit in the pocket, can we fix it back in the pocket
When the dreams and the drums start rocking
Can we dance with our knees not knocking, knocking
See I, I want a lady I can put stock in
I want a bass and backbeat to lock in
I want to know real love's not forgotten

All I need to know is (x3)

Are you clear on who you are
Do you love it?
When this world starts getting hard
Rise above it, rise above it

In the pocket
Can we fix it back in the pocket
When the dreams and the drums start rocking, rocking
Can we dance with our knees not knocking
See I, I want a lady I can put stock in
I want a base and backbeat to lock in
I want to know real love's not forgotten

In the pocket
Can we fix it back in the pocket
When the dreams and the drums start rocking, rocking
Can we dance with our knees not knocking
See I, I want a lady I can put stock in
I want a base and backbeat to lock in

I want to know real love's not forgotten

Track 08
Ladies

My mother told me,
She said Andy,
You'll be a man soon,
So understand me.
Most of this world sees,
Women like candy.
You'll be a man who,
Will be standing for me.

(Hook)
My sisters, my daughters and wives,
Girls who are learning how to shine their light
Dedicate some of your life,
Stand for them all.
Sing it now, me
My sisters, my daughters, and wives,
Girls who are learning how to shine their light.
Dedicate some of your life
You will stand for them all,

(Chorus)
Sing it now
Ladies,
You are beautiful, you are beautiful,
You don't even have to try.
Oh ladies,
You are beautiful, you are beautiful,
More than you could realize.

(Verse 2)
My mother told me,
She said andy,
I know this song may,
Seem demanding.
But I'll be leaving,
And will be handing,
All of my love to you,
You will be standing for me,

(Hook)
My sisters, my daughters and wives,
Girls who are learning how to shine their light.
Dedicate some of your lives,
Stand for them all,

(Chorus)
Sing it now,
Ladies,
You are beautiful, you are beautiful,
You don't even have to try,
Oh ladies,
You are beautiful, you are beautiful,
More than you could realize.
I'm not sure I'm the best one
To carry this torch,
I'm a mess and my nose is sore
Fallin on my face tryin to
Break the norm,
But I still conform.
And I know you see,
The mistakes I make and wait
Patiently, for me to replace them
And I can't quite seem,
To be the perfect man,
That you needed me to be,
I need you to believe that
I'll be standing here,
Got my sword, I got my shield.
And you keep ringing in my ear,
Oh lord,
Talking bout me,

(Hook)
My sisters, my daughters, and wives.
Girls who are learning how shine their light.
Dedicate some of your life,
Stand for them all,

(Chorus)
Sing it now ladies,
You are beautiful, you are beautiful,
You don't even have to try,
Oh ladies,
You are beautiful, you are beautiful,
More than you could realize.
Ladies,
You are beautiful, you are beautiful, you don't even have to try,
Sing it ladies
You are beautiful, you are beautiful,
More than you could realize.

Track 09
Love Love Love

(Verse 1)
It's like I've been feeling like a helium balloon
You know I'm always on the rise
Or is this love, love, love, love, love?
Dead winter but it feels like June
With a smile I can't hide
Or is this love, love, love, love, love?

No defenses I'm too deep for common sense
Well it's love, love, love, love, love
Oh my I'm so delighted; I don't try to even fight it
I think you should know that I will never let you go

(Chorus)
Oh I won't, I won't let you go
I won't let you go
I won't, I won't let you go
I won't let you go
I won't let you go now

(Verse 2)
I've been feeling like you're swimming through my hair
You know you're always on my mind
Or is this love, love, love, love, love?
Dead broke feeling like a millionaire
With a twinkle in my eye
Or is this love, love, love, love, love?

No defenses I'm too deep for common sense
Well it's love, love, love, love, love
Oh my I'm so delighted; I don't try to even fight it
I think you should know, that I will never let you go

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
I've been sleeping on a cloud called number nine
Walking on the air and staring at the sky
I can't remember ever feeling so alive
It's like you brought me back to life
Well you turned on all the lights, somehow

No defenses I'm too deep for common sense
Well it's love, love, love, love, love

(Chorus) x2

Track 10
Build Me a Girl

(Verse 1)
I was nearly a soul getting ready to go
Having one last talk with my maker
He said you're going to earth for better or worse
We'll see you back here sooner or later

So I said to him, as I spread my wings
Would you do one thing for me

(Chorus)
Would you build me a girl from all over the world
I promise I will always adore you
Made in Japan, with style of Milan and smile from California
Brazilian walk, head from New York, pretty Parisian curls
Build me a girl
Build me a girl

(Verse 2)
Well the days went by
Wondering why, why it was I hadn't found her
I was staring at eyes
Smiling at smiles
Still I was none the wiser

And you know I don't
Don't mean to impose
But I thought we had a deal

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
So calling all woman who fit this description
If I'm what you're missing
Then please just listen to the wind
The clouds they're all screaming out, they're trying to bring you to me
So please don't shut them out
Because there is a lady who is made for me
Yes, there is a lady who has been made for me

(Chorus) x2

Track 11
Biggest Man in Los Angeles

(Verse 1)
I got my start on the street
With the monkey next to me he'll
Shake your hand for a dollar,
If you're nice kiss your cheek
To my left I can see
Chinese flipping bowls on their heads from their feet
Yo
Strolling on the scene
Are my arch-enemies
Break-dancers take your crowd, your girl, your money
Balloon man's telling me to turn down please
And the psychic agrees
I begin to see that

Oh I'm home, I'm right where I belong
And there's no where else that I'd rather be

(Chorus)
Because those moments on the street
When crowd would rock with me
I felt like the biggest man, the biggest man in Los Angeles
You see all I really need
Are some ears to hear me dream
I feel like the biggest man, the biggest man in Los Angeles
Standing on the street, yeah
Just standing on the street

(Verse 2)
Trombone cuts deep through the crowd doing Motown moves
With his hat tucked down
A belly dancer passes the tip jar around
And the men are confused, slightly aroused
Muslims, Christians preaching, wishing
I would shut up so the people could listen
Supposed to cut through all this noise
With my little voice, I begin to see that

Oh I'm home, I'm right where I belong
And there's no where else that I'd rather be

(Chorus)

And the day goes dark
I pack my car
Stare out at the ocean
Take some time
A quiet smile
Let it all just soak in

(Chorus) x2

Wheeew!! That's quite a lot. Did you listen to them? Any favorite? :)

the andy grammer obsession part 2

the andy grammer obsession part 1

I just had to document these. Andy Grammer's songs from his second EP, Soft Lights on Bright Colors. I downloaded the songs from Grooveshark using Wondershare and then uploaded them in Tindeck. Wheew!! Anything for Andy! Hahaha! Too bad I can't find the lyrics of the other songs. Anyway, give them a listen for me.

Second EP: Soft Lights on Bright Colors (2009)

Track 01

I wrote a story I can sleep with
Sometimes at night I like to read it
Half of the time I might believe it
But its really all for me
Im putting confidence in hearsay
Im givin' circumstances its trophies
Im writin' a script where she is always
The perfect one for me
The perfect one for me, oh

(Chorus)
And oh, the saints we create when we are feeling all alone
Cause you need something
And oh, the lovers who fake the tale are made to keep us warm
Cause we need something
mmmm

Im getting caught up in the moment oh
Im using her beauty as an omen
She is the one my soul's been calling
And its really all for me
Its really all for me

(Chorus)

It goes we keep pushing,on our hearts, keep pushing,on our hearts
Tryin' to feel like we're in love
Keep pushing,on our hearts, keep pushing on our hearts
It goes we keep pushing,on our hearts,
Keep pushing, on our hearts
Tryin' to feel like were in love
Keep pushin on our hearts, keep pushing on our hearts

And I know
There is more to this
Than eyes closed and a slow romantic kiss
And we've shown, that we are bound to drift
We are searching for an anchor,
Cause the most of us are anchor-less

(Chorus)

Track 02

Driving through streetlights watching the nightlife behind the glass I'm
driving home I chase the fireflies cackle and realize they are the birds
when flash is gone ladies are glowing, guys are holding jars, the summer
breeze blowing for the chasing stars
and its all that we know
all that we know
it's all that we know
but she's needing more than love outta life ay yay and all these brothers
come at night oh no nooo
but tired and worn she know what will catch their eyes
oh
she is a gorgeous firefly... as she flies by
Waiting for loved ones to slide to the forefront fella start pondering their
lives we wanna knock out don't wanna block out where we know we need
to survive ladies are glowing, guys are holding jars, the summer breeze
blowing, for the chasing stars
chorus
and we've all wished the other would see past the cover and the leading
and man and the leading lady need to take a stand and then maybe

Track 03

Track 04

Let's keep it casual, he says
She could not agree more as she nods her head
Let's water down this drink of ours
We'd rather lowers stakes than raise the bar

It's not looking too good
I'm not feeling the way that I should
Try to separate the ocean from the shore
It's not looking too good
I've been wondering maybe we could
Figure out just what we're marching towards

'Cause we are, we are forcing
Our bodies not to breathe
And we are, we are more than
Straight to DVD
And we are, we are born in
To higher lives than these
And still we live
So casually

Let's keep it casual, she says
He could not agree more
As he gets from the bed
Let's hold back most of who we are
Can touch the body but the soul stays so far

It's not looking too good
I'm not feeling the way that I should
Try to separate the ocean from the shore
It's not looking too good
I've been wondering maybe we could
Figure out just what we're marching towards

'Cause we are, we are forcing
Our bodies not to breathe
And we are, we are
More than straight to DVD
And we are, we are born in
To higher lives than these
Still we live
So casually

Oh no no no
We are fragile
This is more than just for fun
We are noble
Underneath all we have done
We are brilliant
If you reach beyond our skin
We are brilliant
When we finally let you in

'Cause we are, we are forcing
Our bodies not to breathe
And we are, we are more than
Straight to DVD
And we are, we are born in
To higher lives than these
Still we live
So casually

Track 05

Track 06

Lyrics
At the bass y'all
At the trumpet y'all

Well I'm five on a good day six
I got plenty of things need to fix
A bigger chest and dimples in my face
With those I could be pushin' seven to eight
Guitar in my hand add a point to my score
No car slide me down to a four
Six feet with a pair of blue eyes
Brings me back up to a five

Greater than less than equal to
You're making this way too mathematical
The value of personality seems to be dead
All walkin' around with numbered halo's on our heads well

Threes want fours and fours want fives
Eights think nines have much better lives
And it's a reasonable question to ask
I guess it's all how ya doing the math
And I can sit and I can lie to you
And say this somethin' that I don't do
But I'm another number crunchin' fool
Whose calculator's way overused

Greater than less than equal to
You're making this way too mathematical
The value of personality seems to be dead
All walkin' around with numbered halo's on our heads and I'm thinking

Just one time
I wish I could have a nine
She'd be hot and she'd be mine just one time
But for every nine there's a two starting back at you
wishing you would do what you wanted the nine to eh

90% of the mental judicial system is based solely on superficial intuition
To me that seems a bit strange
Only talk to people who we think we might be kissin'
That's a lot of ideas to be dismissing
We leave it to humans to choose the criteria we can't change

It doesn't make sense no doesn't make sense doesn't make sense
For the numbers to be where we are concentrating
In my minor sense i condense in my minor sense
Asymmetrical interactions
Simply evaporating
I'm a five on a good day six
Got plenty of things need to fix
I need a formula or some sort of plan to focus on the soda not the can

I've got a couple more years on you babe, and that's all
I've had more chances to fly, and more places to fall
And it ain't that I'm wiser, it's only that I've spent
More time with my back to the wall
And I've picked up a couple more years on you babe, that's all

I've walked a couple more roads than you babe, that's all
And I'm tired of runnin' while you're only learnin' to crawl
And you're headin' somewhere, but I've been to somewhere
And found it was nowhere at all
And I've picked up a couple more years on you babe, that's all

Now sayin' goodbye, girl, don't never come easy at all
But you've gotta fly 'cause you're hearin' them young eagles call
And someday when you're older you'll smile at a man strong and tall
And you'll say, "I've got a couple more years on you babe, that's all"

You'll say,"I've got a couple more years on you babe, that's all
I've had more chances to fly, and more places to fall
And it ain't that I'm wiser, it's only that I've spent
More time with my back to the wall
And I've picked up a couple more years on you babe, and that's all"

Track 08

Lyrics
I can't say that love is gone
Something still feels wrong
I find myself so far from you, oh
Foot in, one foot out
I chase my tail about
You analyse my every move, oh

See you don't need me now
I'll just slow you down
You can stand all on your own, oh
The love we shared was real
The secrets we revealed
I hope I was a stepping stone, oh

Because you are more yourself than when you met me
And I can say the same
I'm more myself than when I met you

And oh, I just want you to know
This is not a waste of time
There's so much more below
The surface we all search to find
The one's that help us grow
And you have done that much for me
And I hope I've been a stepping stone
Looking back on what was done
Sure, I hurt you some
Sure, you threw a few low blows, oh
But when the bruises heal
I'll take down my shield
And thank God above I know you

Because you are more yourself than when I met you
And I can say the same
I'm more myself than when I met you

And oh, I just want you to know
This is not a waste of time
There's so much more below
The surface we all search to find
The one's that help us grow
And you have done that much for me

So please I ask you don't
Toss the work we've done aside
Because we're letting go
This is just a piece of life
Focus on the whole
We have come so far

Well I hope you use my back to step across the pond
And I hope by pushing off me, you will land upon
The guy who's surely out there to whom you belong
Find him now

And oh, I just want you to know
This is not a waste of time
There's so much more below
The surface we all search to find
The one's that help us grow
And you have done that much for me

So please I ask you don't
Toss the work we've done aside
Because we're letting go
This is just a piece of life
Focus on the whole
We have come so far

Sing it out,
I needed, I needed
To meet you

the andy grammer obsession

the andy grammer obsession part 4

One lazy Wednesday afternoon, I found myself obsessing with Andy Grammer again. This time though my obsession got a notch worse to the point that I actually registered to Andy Grammer Nation just to find his old songs. I found out that even before his self-titled album, Andy Grammer of course, he already released a couple of EP's, Extended Play that is. His First EP is The World is Yours released back in 2007. He actually sold that album personally to people when he was still a busker in Santa Monica. That got me admiring him all the more. Hahaha! Patay na patay lang ang peg. :P

And while I'm still downloading the tracks on his second EP, Soft Lights on Bright Colors, you might want to listen to the tracks below from his first EP. Hihihi. Tara, kanta!

First EP: The World is Yours (2007)

Track 01

This is the song that you throw on
When life is feeling rather long
And you're longing for confidence to make it

And these are the words that make you feel
That all your dreams aren't dreams
But real events that simply haven't taken place yet

But if you stare high
The sky will come right down and kiss you
If you keep your head towards the stars
They will assist you

The world is yours
The world is yours

This is the time of night
When all the streetlights rub their waking eyes
The day and night find compromise in dark blue

This is the magic in the air
That whispers, "You are almost there"
The worries, cares, and daydreamers will leave soon

But if you stare high
The sky will come right down and kiss you
If you keep your head towards the stars
They will assist you

The world is yours
The world is yours

Well, this is the song that you throw on
When life is feeling rather long
And you're longing for confidence to make it

And these are the words that make you feel
That all your dreams aren't dreams
But real events that simply haven't taken place yet

But if you stare high
The sky will come right down and kiss you
But if you keep your head towards the stars
They will assist you

The world is yours
The world is yours
What are you waiting for?

The world is yours
The world is yours

Track 02

Can't find the lyrics of this one. Eepp! Help me? :)

Track 03

Our conversations are flying home tonight
Honeymooners, returning on a midnight flight
They are coming back to normal lives
Vacations morph into nine-to-fives
And I slip off this rosy pair
Of lenses and you're still beautiful
Smoke has cleared, the wrapping tears
Bright lights fade, and you're still beautiful
I sense you shaving off my mysteries
And knowing my trophies have realistic histories
The fish have gone aback to normal size
A man of limits stands before your gentle eyes
And I slip off this rosy pair
Of lenses and you're still beautiful
Smoke has cleared, the wrapping tears
Bright lights fade, and you're still beautiful
I start with my nose at the painting
Slowly step back and this is amazing
Dr. Cal has a patient-ly waiting for me to earn them
"Real" is harder to see in a smile
Tears break the seal of denial
Rosy colors are nice for a while but now I'm learning
And I slip off this rosy pair
Of lenses and you're still beautiful

Track 04

Touch that is the new condition
All of my thoughts positioned towards the ground where I can stand
Such, it's such an easy surrender
When we become pretenders sending dreams up in balloons that never land

Some day I will be a millionaire
I'd rather talk about it then be here

Well I am busy planning a wedding
Although I keep on forgetting that I do not have a wife
And my recipes are so enticing
Focusing time on the icing of the cakes that seem to make up all my life

Some day I will be a millionaire
I'd rather talk about it then be here
Lately everything it seems so clear

It's that I never want to lie
It's that I'm never going to lie
Well I wasn't made to lie

I want to feel
Like the missing puzzle piece of something that's real
Bring to the table, something that's stable

And I don't need to fool this light
That is such an ugly fight and I
Never liked acting much
Anything I do now I need to touch

I'm running around in a costume
Slowing me down as I'm posturing myself to gain the wealth of what I'm not
Hey everyone sees it's a costume
Take it off maybe I'll blossom into who it is I was but just forgot

Track 05

At the bass y'all
At the trumpet y'all

Well I'm five on a good day six
I got plenty of things need to fix
A bigger chest and dimples in my face
With those I could be pushin' seven to eight
Guitar in my hand add a point to my score
No car slide me down to a four
Six feet with a pair of blue eyes
Brings me back up to a five

Greater than less than equal to
You're making this way too mathematical
The value of personality seems to be dead
All walkin' around with numbered halo's on our heads well

Threes want fours and fours want fives
Eights think nines have much better lives
And it's a reasonable question to ask
I guess it's all how ya doing the math
And I can sit and I can lie to you
And say this somethin' that I don't do
But I'm another number crunchin' fool
Whose calculator's way overused

Greater than less than equal to
You're making this way too mathematical
The value of personality seems to be dead
All walkin' around with numbered halo's on our heads and I'm thinking

Just one time
I wish I could have a nine
She'd be hot and she'd be mine just one time
But for every nine there's a two starting back at you
wishing you would do what you wanted the nine to eh

90% of the mental judicial system is based solely on superficial intuition
To me that seems a bit strange

That's a lot of ideas to be dismissing
