catching up series: heyyy, I have short hair now

I have to do this for my own sanity. I mean, write about the things that happened while I was away -- from this blog, at least. So you already know I have a little bag business. Teepee, yeah? Now, I have another revelation to make. Haha! I FINALLY GOT MY DREAM HAIR CUT. Yeyyy! Hahaha! I'm acting like it happened just recently when the truth is I made the bold move back in November. Five freakin' months ago but heyyy, I already said we're catching up here, right?

But wait. Let's dig down further. Two years ago, I said I wanted to have my hair permed. I love how beach waves look on me hence the decision. But who am I kidding? Merely five months after I wrote that post, I contemplated a pixie cut. Indecisive, that's what I am. :P Then salon day came and to my despair, the stylist won't let me have my dream hair cut. Rebonded hair issues, ugh! My only consolation then was my newly straightened hair. And fine, I was a little happy with my shorter do too.

Fast forward to a year after.. I pursued the pixie cut I've been wishing for. It was really something big for me 'cause I was never the experimental type when it comes to my hair. I always had long hair actually -- well, maybe except back when my mom was still deciding for me. Haha! That's a totally different story. So anyway, imagine the terror as I sat down the salon chair; I was so nervous. Even my niece cried not just once - BUT TWICE! - 'cause she's not used to seeing me with short hair. She was hugging me too almost the entire process. Hahaha! I told you the hair cut was kind of a big deal.

the inspo I showed the stylist slash our neighbor :P

And since I suck at taking selfies, I had to steal {and crop} a photo from my first public appearance :P just to have something to show you. Hehe! I really love how it turned out although I have to admit it's a little difficult to maintain. Medyo close na tuloy kami nung kapitbahay ko. We used to be just civil with each other. Haha!

that kontrabida smirk you make when you feel purty harhar

I'm itching for another hair cut as we speak. I'm eyeing an even shorter do ala Michelle Williams 2014 but we'll see. I should have been warned this hair thing is addictive. What now?!

the magic of fancy rings and nail paints

Just thought of stating the obvious -- I've totally gone bonkers {again} over fancy rings and boho nail paints. I can only imagine my Instagram followers nodding in agreement. Hehe! As they say, "The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of things, they simply appreciate what they have." Or at least something to that effect! Hahaha basta! My point is, it's just a matter of perspective, folks! Now that I can't go places, splurge on clothes or buy whatever {because I still can't freakin' work, but I'm still a-awesome, ok? :P}, I find bliss in the cheapest of cheap things. See? A new shade of polish, or another set of knuckle rings for that matter, and I'm solved! But of course, it isn't all about the beautiful tangible things, people; there's this equally amazing intangible ones too aka the love of yerr family and the shallow -- yet fun, if you'd ask me-- stuff you do together. Blabbed 'em HERE, by the way. So I guess I'm good. Yes, yes, I'm good! :)

tadaaahhh!!

I'm finally sporting a shorter do after what felt like forever. Plus it's straight again. Thanks to Monique for tagging me along. I was with her last year too so I guess it's official, I found my vanity buddy. Yayyy!!

I already posted the details of the salon here and here; feel free to check 'em out. You can either go for Lito or Lance. Trust me! They are both nice and fun. Just bring out your own kakulitan and it won't be a boring salon sesh for sure.

On to my hairstyle, it's the shortest possible with my hair condition - dyed, dry, brittle. Hehe. Although it was close to one of my options, just a little longer. I was considering pixie cut too but Lance was honest enough to tell me that it'll only look good at first but it'll be really, really bad as soon as my hair starts to grow. I completely ditched the idea when he told me I might look like a mushroom when that happens. Hahaha! Picture short and poofy hair. Oo nga naman.

I hate how my hair is half black and half brown but I still have to wait for two months before I can dye it again. Oh well papel. Lance suggested medium golden blonde for my next hair color but I have yet to think about it. Me? Blonde? Whuutt?!!

After hours and hours of rebonding torture at the salon, Monique and I chilled at Jamba Juice - her treat! What did I do to deserve all these treats? Enlighten me! Anyway, she got banana berry while I got strawberries wild. We tried both and I liked mine better. She liked hers better too. Good choices, mademoiselles.

get your brain freeze on!

I am guessing this would knock down my Starbucks addiction. Especially now that another doctor told me I shouldn't be taking in caffeine in any form, emphasis on soda and coffee. #SMH

fickle-minded like that

I am fickle-minded and there's no denying it. Case in point: Remember when I said I want to have my hair permed? Few months after, I am seriously thinking of having my hair chopped into something super short. Pixie cut, perhaps? Just writing about it makes me all giddy {but nervous too}. Ohai, girl logic.

how about this?
via

I'll be amending my "getting my shit together" bucket list the moment I make up my mind - hopefully soon for my birthday. Help me decide? :)

this is how I look btw with curly hair
sorry Tin,  had to drag you in this :*

Hafta gooo! Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, guys!

07.11.2013 Update
I changed my photo to something more decent just 'cause. I already said I'm fickle-minded, right?

auburn

How about an update? :)

Both in my excitement and in my conscious effort to break my OC-ness towards this blog, I am fast-forwarding to a recent dream-come-true moment. *wide grin*

After two freakin' years.. I finally got to change my hair color! Hahaha! You know I'm shallow like that sometimes but heeyyy, really, I am so happy!

Remember this?

8. EXPERIMENT WITH MY HAIR COLOR
I guess I'm just getting bored with my eternally black, long and straight {ok, rebonded} hair. I first thought of hair perming. But life happens and some cool gals out there had a shot at it first. So it'll have to wait until 2012 for me. {hantagaaaal} Exactly while I'm thinking of anything, just anything, to do with my hair, I bumped into a beauty blog featuring Loreal INOA, Innovation No Ammonia. No ammonia hair color. Reviews are good and so I'm convinced. Target is before the year ends. December, don't come yet. I still have to prepare myself to endure humiliation in case it doesn't go well.

And this?

dream and do update

8. EXPERIMENT WITH MY HAIR COLOR
Can you give me until the end of August to tick this off? And can you wish me enough determination to visit the salon? I am sooo lazzeehh.

And lastly this?

some leftovers and new goals for 2012

4. Experiment with my hair color
Here's the story. I've been sporting dead rebonded hair for as long as I can remember and I cannot just dye my hair or they'll be double dead. Haha! This March, I swear I'm going to seek for some expert's advice and finally tick this off my list.

Kadiri 'diba? It was such a struggle when really it was just easy. See what procrastination can do? But long story short, I'm no longer sporting long jet black hair. It's now some sorta auburn with hits and misses here and there. Hehehe! xP You have to understand guys, I made it myself and it's my first time. Promise to do better next time. And that next time is not too far from today because I'm enjoying this 'kulay ng buhok' thing.

By the way, I used Revlon Colorsilk #42, Medium Auburn. It's for P395 at Watsons. I used three boxes for my hair because it's not just long but it's also damn thick! I'm still not contented with the result so I got one more box {well I wished for it from our exchange gift}. It's not too much of a risk because it's not that drying nor does it hurt the scalp. I probably ask my sister to do some retouch on the ends because they're darker than the roots. We'll see what happens.

meanwhile, here are some behind the scenes

And of course, this post cannot end without me showing you what it looks like now. Tadaaah! Hindi obvious yung kulay dba? Hahaha! Took these in my cube at the office which probably explains why.. Excuses, I know! :P

now I wish I have brown eyes too :P

PEROOO.. whether I succeed or I failed.. whether it suits me or not.. Goal #4. Experiment with my hair color - CHECK!

Happy Holidays everyone! I accept gifts in the form of comments. :)

what i needed the most

REBOOONND! Hahaha! It's been long overdue and if only my hair can beg me to do this, it most probably will. I honestly don't know what took me so long.  I guess when you're going through tough times, things like this wouldn't be a priority. But hey, slowly, things are falling into places. I have been told earlier today that my request will be granted come January. I can't waaaiitt! xD Yay! I'm blabbing like any of you understands. Work related crap. I probably should stop. That rhymes. Cool! Geez. Hyperblogging, here. Hahaha!

Anyway, I got my hair rebonded at Victor Ortega together with my roommate and sibs. Btw, finding out about that salon is such a great blessing. Can you imagine having better service than Bench Fix for only one thousand pesos? Yes, I wrote that right. That affordable! One thousand pesos, any length! Need some hair fix too? They're located at 500 San Rafael Street Corner Boni Avenue Mandaluyong. It's much better though if you set an appointment with them. Give them a call at 5351696 or 5319350.

salon day ♥

And what's the best way to make the most out of your vanity expenses? Take vanity shots of course! Ohmigod, I committed cyber crime. *goes to jail now*

simple joys ♥

Have I said that the very reason I feel blessed is having an a-awesome family? A million times already I bet. So here I am again feeling grateful for simple things shared with my loved-ones on our {mine and the second sister's} special day.

With simple things, I mean visiting our favorite church and eating pigging-out. But before that, me and my youngest sister had a long preparation because we wanted to sport aztec nails. We were successful. I assume. :D

not bad for first timers, eh?

We also had "guests" that special day. My cousin Kuya Ge and our granny were with us. Our extended family just got extended even more. The more the manier.. I mean merrier. :P

Cesar Montano turned Mr. v

So just like the old times in Grotto, we paid respect to the big guy up there first, then roamed around the place. We went to the Stations of the Cross and Rosary Hill but only up to a little past the entrance. Haha! Alam nyo na, hindi nakapag-flanax ang mga lolo at lola nyo. :)

random shots of the church

Just in time for dinner, we headed to SM Fairview.  We ate like there's tomorrow in Racks and the big winner was Kuya Ga. Big winner meaning the last man eating. Hahaha! Still, he wasn't able to finish everything. We took out our leftovers for the "dog". Pero chos lang, we ate them the next morning. Haha!

my piggies about to pig out

baby baaaack

My cousins also bought cake and ice cream to make our tummies even happier. We went home so full making fun of our empachos.

thanks kuya Ga and kuya Ge

Till our next birthday celebration! Meanwhile, allow me to edit more pictures for my next blog post. Let's all combat backlogs. xD

what's in my huge bag?

..or better titled 'what makes my bag darn heavy?'

See the gigantic bag below? That's my current everyday slash pangharabas bag. Ain't it huge? And to make things worse, I am such a midget! Haha! :)) I usually receive unsolicited comments like "ang laki naman ng bag mo" or "para kang nagbabakasyon". You don't understand, people. I have a long list of can't-live-without stuff at kapag nawala sila, mamamatay ako {weh?}.

my ever reliable Penshoppe bag

To begin with, that mother bag contains baby bags. It has a bag organizer, kikay kit, dental kit, gadgets kit and wallet.

baby bags

Now the bag organizer keeps the stuff below.  These are crucial. I feel impaired without them. Let's get a rundown, shall we?

can't-live-without

  • tissue, in all forms possible - the dry ones, the wet ones, and fem wipes of course
  • sanitary pads - for emergency purposes
  • meds - biogesic, alaxan, kremil-s, dolfenal, and diatabs {girl scout much?}
  • band-aids - for unforgiving new pairs of shoes, for cuts, scratches and hangnails {you know  how blood and wounds drain my strength, sooo..}
  • perfume and handfoam - both in sweet pea scent. bangooo
  • deodorant - for unplanned overnights or activities
  • mirror - need I elaborate?
  • aviators - because I wear shades anytime, anywhere. walang basagan ng trip
  • book - whatever I'm currently reading, which as of this writing, is How to Walk in High Heels by Camilla Morton.
  • planner - my BDJ planner which is not in the picture because I forgot to include it and I didn't want to arrange my stuff like that again. Pero hindi ako tamad huh, hindi talaga. :P
  • and lastly, my umbrella ella ella eh

Moving on, my gadgets kit holds pens, flashdrive, internet stick, credit card security device, charger, connector and earphones. Sometimes it holds my lappy cords too.

gadgets kit

Next, my really not interesting dental kit. Toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash and floss. Just the basics.

dental kit

And last but definitely not the least, my kikay kit. I can never leave the house without it, bilang hindi naman talaga ako masyadong maganda. Saktong ganda lang! Hahaha! Noticed it's Hello Kitty? I think I'm getting addicted again to that annoying pa-cute cat! :P

kikay kit

  • two way cake - fanny serrano in duchess
  • powder blush - nichido true colors collection in sunkissed, which I rarely use kasi nga hindi ako tamad
  • eyeshadow - maybelline diamond glow in copper brown and elf in matte mauve
  • lipgloss - maybelline lipsmooth color bloom in pink blossom
  • lipsticks - ever bilena in off beat pink, maybelline color sensation in toffee cream and mocha pearl. mahilig sa brown si negra
  • concealer - fanny serrano in cashew
  • clear mascara - fashion 21, because I grew tired of the usual mascara and that's the only clear mascara I found
  • eyeliners - maybelline impact express smooth feltliner, so easy to apply, I am a fan
  • brushes - for the blush and eyeshadow, I do not even know how to properly address them. haha!
  • comb - everyone needs one, unless your bald
  • eyelash curler - for pretty eyes in an instant
  • tweezers - for stray kilays, tumutubo ata sila every minute. nako naman
  • nailcutter - incase I forgot to cut my nails at home

There you go. So basic yet so dami.  I hope my intended audience sees this. Ma, hope you get to read this. Hindi ako galing sa bakasyon, ok? :D

messed up no more

Look who's back! Haha! I've been a bad blogger. I feel so messed up since July started hence so uninspired to write. Work almost took the life of me, I had to work for 12 or more hours a day for about two weeks. By the end of the second week, I am literally sick. I wasted the weekends getting decent rest and sleep. And I wasted the Monday after that by taking a sick leave and getting more rest. Work got piled up and other responsibilities {cleaning my room, fixing my closet, etc.} were left undone. Now, who wouldn't feel messed up? #endrant

The good thing is.. I filed a week-long vacation leave several months ago and it started last Monday. Yep, Monday. But is only now that I got inspired to blog. I guess I no longer feel messed up. Dapat lang. I already spent five days cleaning and fixing things in my rooms {at home and in the apartment}. I also went mall hopping to accomplish my "to buy" list. From laptop accessories, to my own accessories, to the needs of my closet, to make-ups, to toiletries, to new DVDs.. I can go on and on.

mickey mouse laptop sleeve, cuteness :D

girly girly laptop decals

Aside from my "to buy" list, I also have this "to do" list that got longer because of how busy I was. That includes having some clothes and shoes repaired, getting my clothes from the laundry shop, bringing home excess stuff from the apartment.. and have I mentioned cleaning my room and fixing my closet? Wheew!

can't get enough of them

because I missed wearing make-up

Now I have few more days to.. uhmm.. blog? I still have to do a bucket list update, which by the way I wasn't able to complete before turning 25. Epic Fail. But I promise to complete them at least WHILE I'm 25. Hahaha!

Got to go! I wonder what's for breakfast. :D

the long weekend that was

Long weekends are loooveee. Definitely. Especially if they're well spent. Did I spend mine well? You be the judge! =)

It has been months since Mhog {a term of endearment, Mhoi plus Pog} and I thought of planning a get together with a bunch of college friends. I am not so much of an event organizer since school days but I guess being a part of PEP somehow changed that. PEP btw is an action team in my project whose in-charge of engagement concerns and activities like Summer Outing, Christmas Party etc. Anyway, having developed a little love with organizing events, Mhog and I went on planning. I actually can't remember whose idea it is exactly but we have planned to just go on an overnight swimming, November 27 to 28.

presenting.. Mhooog!

Originally we wanted to have it in Grotto Vista, unfortunately they do not offer overnight swimming. Overnight stay in their rooms is possible but pools are open only until 11pm. So forget it. Me and my sister desperately searched the world wide web for an alternative and found Dreamland Resort in Zabarte. Overnight stay is 25o per head and nipa huts can be occupied at a rate of 6oo. They also offer tables, tree house and rooms; which rates I cannot remember. But if in case anyone is interested with Dreamland, you can give them a call at 9614602 or 9629961.

Then came the day. Mhog, Jun, Anit and I prepared our food at our house. I honestly expected it to be a disaster since no one assisted us. We were all by ourselves in doing the groceries, to actually preparing and cooking them, to packing them as we leave. But hey, given my imaginary cooking skills, it's not as bad as I expected. But it's not as good as it should be either. Haha! =))

chefs in the making

We were in the resort from around 6pm to 6am. Soaked until we chilled in their Olympic sized pool. Took pictures until we almost run out of poses. Sang in the videoke until the last five peso coin. Played basketball until our arms hurt. Teased unfortunate ones like it will do us good. Went back and forth to the restrooms as if they are not far and scary. Ate and drank moderately. Laughed at the slightest joke and shared stories to catch up with one another. Definitely worth all the effort and getting pissed off a bit with difficult people.

On another note, as it was a long weekend, we still have Monday for ourselves. Tin and I planned it to be our salon day. Time for our much needed rebond. Yay! We, or should I say, "I" decided to have it in Victor Ortega Salon.

It was actually my third time there while it's Tin's first time to undergo rebonding! They offer good services at low rates. 1ooo for rebonding {and that is any length if I may emphasize} and another 1ooo for the treatment {price this time is per vial depending on the treatment}. Our senior stylist was Justine and I should say he's the most accommodating stylist I have encountered so far. From now on I'll look for him every time I'll make appointments. I think I found my personal stylist! *wink*

And if anyone is interested with Victor Ortega Salon, you can make your reservations through 5351696 or 5319350. They are located at 5oo San Rafael St. corner Boni Avenue Mandaluyong City. Shouldn't I get paid for this? ;)

maybe she's born with it

Maybe it's Maybelline.

I definitely got my new addiction and it's making my thin wallet thinner. I need rehab!

Tadaaa! My new addiction is Maybelline, anything Maybelline. This started two Saturdays ago when I bought my can't live withouts, powder, lipstick and mascara. I went back to the basics months ago so I only need those three. But then this Maybelline girl offered what they call the Empire Card. According to her, by buying those items I'll have that sort of loyalty card FOR FREE. Okay, so that is the only thing I need to hear to accept her offer.

stolen from their page

what's inside

---

I am definitely adding Maybelline to my Facebook 'likes'!!

But before that, I am giving you a glimpse of what I have got so far.
  • Clear Smooth Extra Shine Free Powder Foundation, in Natural
Been using this since it came out. I love how it hides my imperfections especially in photos. How can you not love that?

---
  • Clear Smooth Minerals Instant Skin Perfecting Cream
It's the BB cream that gave me huge zits about a month ago so I stopped using it. I'll give it another try when my love-hate relationship with my hormones get better.

---
  • Diamond Glow by Eyestudio, in 01 Copper Brown
I just bought this last Wednesday and so far I am loving it. I'm learning how to put on my ES again.

---
  • Impact Express Smooth Felt Liner
I've never been a fan of liquid eyeliner. I have tried Nichido before and how it hurt my lids was unbelievable. Now this one is gentle and I am amazed on how easy it glides on my peepers. Good buy.

---
  • Unstoppable Curly Extension
I think I'm liking it better than Loreal's Telescopic Clean. Or maybe I'm being biased. ;)

---
  • Watershine Pure, in BC11
Not a very good color for my dark lips, gotta buy something better. I am drinking pearl shake when I bought this so I didn't feel like trying so many colors on. Lesson learned.

---
  • Lip Smooth Color and Care, in Cranberry Jam and Cherry
Color wise Cherry is better, smell wise I'd go for Cranberry. Because the Cherry smells like air freshener and the Cranberry doesn't color your lips at all.

here's what I've got so far
plus the VS silver kikay kit, courtesy of Grace

Note: I really do not have Blush on my list because as I have said I have this love-hate relationship with my hormones and its kinda attacking my right cheek right now. I am trying my very best to defend it. I hope I win the battle.

So there. I have confessed my addiction. For as long as it doesn't seriously hurt my finances, I have no plans of overcoming it. Got to post FOTDs soon. =)
