auburn

How about an update? :)

Both in my excitement and in my conscious effort to break my OC-ness towards this blog, I am fast-forwarding to a recent dream-come-true moment. *wide grin*

After two freakin' years.. I finally got to change my hair color! Hahaha! You know I'm shallow like that sometimes but heeyyy, really, I am so happy!

Remember this?

8. EXPERIMENT WITH MY HAIR COLOR
I guess I'm just getting bored with my eternally black, long and straight {ok, rebonded} hair. I first thought of hair perming. But life happens and some cool gals out there had a shot at it first. So it'll have to wait until 2012 for me. {hantagaaaal} Exactly while I'm thinking of anything, just anything, to do with my hair, I bumped into a beauty blog featuring Loreal INOA, Innovation No Ammonia. No ammonia hair color. Reviews are good and so I'm convinced. Target is before the year ends. December, don't come yet. I still have to prepare myself to endure humiliation in case it doesn't go well.

And this?

dream and do update

8. EXPERIMENT WITH MY HAIR COLOR
Can you give me until the end of August to tick this off? And can you wish me enough determination to visit the salon? I am sooo lazzeehh.

And lastly this?

some leftovers and new goals for 2012

4. Experiment with my hair color
Here's the story. I've been sporting dead rebonded hair for as long as I can remember and I cannot just dye my hair or they'll be double dead. Haha! This March, I swear I'm going to seek for some expert's advice and finally tick this off my list.

Kadiri 'diba? It was such a struggle when really it was just easy. See what procrastination can do? But long story short, I'm no longer sporting long jet black hair. It's now some sorta auburn with hits and misses here and there. Hehehe! xP You have to understand guys, I made it myself and it's my first time. Promise to do better next time. And that next time is not too far from today because I'm enjoying this 'kulay ng buhok' thing.

By the way, I used Revlon Colorsilk #42, Medium Auburn. It's for P395 at Watsons. I used three boxes for my hair because it's not just long but it's also damn thick! I'm still not contented with the result so I got one more box {well I wished for it from our exchange gift}. It's not too much of a risk because it's not that drying nor does it hurt the scalp. I probably ask my sister to do some retouch on the ends because they're darker than the roots. We'll see what happens.

meanwhile, here are some behind the scenes

And of course, this post cannot end without me showing you what it looks like now. Tadaaah! Hindi obvious yung kulay dba? Hahaha! Took these in my cube at the office which probably explains why.. Excuses, I know! :P

now I wish I have brown eyes too :P

PEROOO.. whether I succeed or I failed.. whether it suits me or not.. Goal #4. Experiment with my hair color - CHECK!

Happy Holidays everyone! I accept gifts in the form of comments. :)

random rants and a birthday celebration

I realized how this blog became sorta kinda my journal and scrapbook at the same time. Just so you know, I used to maintain a scrapbook until I stopped after I graduated from college. It pains me that I have to abandon that but at least I have my blog now. My point is that.. no matter how I get excited to post recent happenings {or feelings if you'd believe I have that}.. I cant.. until I have accomplished everything that's on my draft. And add to that chronologically as they took place in my life. My OCD is not helping with this, really. :P

All I want to say is that, I have lots on my mind right now like 2013 goals - career wise and personal, thoughts about life and so on.. BUT my draft says I should blog about my niece's birthday celebration at TongYang so here I go. But please don't get me wrong, I want to blog about this too. It's just that my mind, and probably my heart and soul too {hehe}, wants to explode already with all sorts of things. Alam mo ba yun?!! If you've gone through quarter life crisis, you'd understand. But if you're yet to experience that, I say you prepare yourself big time. Soon you'll thank me for warning you. And oh, baby sister, hope you're reading this.

Enough of the drama. Because really, I hate drama. My friends can attest to that. But sometimes, life has its special way of forcing you into things.. hence my drama. But as I've said, ENOUGH. So tama na. Pwede ba? Jusme, loka loka!

*shifts to normal self to continue* So mid last month, we celebrated my niece's birthday at TongYang. The day before that, they had a kiddie party back at home that I wasn't able to attend. The second time around though, I made sure to fly from Eastwood to Fairview. I made it, albeit a little late. What's new with that anyway?

yet another pig out session

happy birthday, dearie :*

Like the usual, we headed to Tom's world for some amusement and singing. xD Perfectly for the occasion, my niece was the star of that videoke session. She sang and danced to the tune of Reflection - her current favorite song. Oh how I miss that darling. It's more than a month already since I last went home. I miss everyone of course, but I always, always, miss her the most.

when will my reflection show? ♫♬

And sorry if this blog post doesn't have coherent thoughts. I promise in 2013 - NO MORE MESS! Who thinks I should change my twitter username and tumblr URL, like right NOW!?

Update 07.28.2013
I've recently changed my tumblr URL. Let's keep it a secret for now. I need you to understand, please. Hahaha! Nagdrama na?

treats here and there

I really shouldn't be blogging right now for obvious reasons that it's 11am already and it's only Thursday, meaning I have work to attend to but.. my dysmenorrhea is currently killing me and only my hands and brain can function. Picture me lying in bed almost in comatose but still using my laptop. Kawawang bata. And before I completely surrender, let's now make this quick!

Couple of treats from last month. And why not? It's the season of giving already. ♥ :)

First one's from my former team lead. She's back in the PI for her second wedding. They managed to meet us several days before their big day for a quick Starbucks treat. We went nuts for the stickers. Hahaha! And by the way, their wedding is also on my long list of drafts. You've got to wait for that! Minsan nyo lang ako makikitang mukhang tao. xP

thanks Ags and Jon!

Next, Silina's treat! She also visited PI last month but she's back in the US now. I regret not pushing with my plans of getting inside her maleta to be carried abroad too. Hahaha! Moving on, we had dinner at Blufish then we headed to Starbucks for more chika plus coffee on the side. It's also the night that I got my Starbucks planner. Yahooo! Worthy of my few thousands and occasional palpitation and some other coffee jitters. Sinabi naman kasing bawal sa 'yo and kape, neng!

thanks Silina! :*

Again, Christmas is the season of giving. This is the perfect time for us to show how grateful we are for our blessings. Giving is more fulfilling than receiving. At ako, willing akong ibigay ang fulfillment nyo. Guys, what are you waiting for? Ilibre nyo na 'ko! Libre libre libre! :))

*Blabbed before I unintentionally dozed off.

staycation ♥

stay•ca•tion/ ˌstāˈkāSHən/
Noun: A vacation spent in one's home country rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions.

One of the perks of living in a condooow in the metrooow, staycation!! Being the mall rat that I am, I hardly stay at home during the weekends. Back in Caloocan, weekends are for SM Fairview. Here in Eastwood, weekends are for SM Megamall. {Hello there, Henry Sy!} Good thing I developed the love for swimming. Weekends now are for staying at home - doing bubbles and kicks, floating and freestyle.

And another perk? Pictorials! ♥
See? Who said weekends need to hurt the pocket to be fun?! xD

remember, remember, the second of november

Hi guys! I'm so back from Boracay. I'm still confused whether I love or hate my sun-kissed skin but let's just leave that for another post. Meanwhile, let me work on my unfinished businesses back in the month of November. So last month but hell yeah, better late than never!

Remember, remember, the second of November. Ring a bell? Got that from a nursery rhyme that actually says "remember, remember, the fifth of November". Forgive me for all the non-sense. Apparently, my brain cells got toasted in Boracay too. Depleted na nga, na-toast pa! xP

Enough of my non-sense. All I wanted to share are some photos from our visit to Manila Memorial Park. It's where my departed loved ones from the father side lie. We used to visit two cemeteries every All Soul's day but this time we weren't able to go to Sanctuario de Paz. Mom opted to schedule our visit to lolo this month since his birthday is on the 14th. We'll see about that, mother.

fam bam ♥

Woot! One down! More November fever comin'.  Then my grand week-long vacay at Boracay! Can't wait to share stories of my recent trip with y'all!

day2: this surfing thing in bagasbas

And I'm baaack! More Calaguas stories for y'all!! Brace yourselves for my exciting first time surfing experience. Here I go again exaggerating but anyway let's begin where we should begin.

good morning, Calaguas

We all woke up early on our second day but there's no beating Ruel with regards to this matter. As soon as I opened our tent I saw him running around playing frisbee. Move over Gary V, he's our own version of Mr. Pure Energy. Hahaha! More proof? I invited them to go jogging and tadaahhh.. only Monique and Ruel went with me. Monique got tired a little past our starting line {hehehe} and I went on with Ruel. I thought I can make it 'til the other end of the island but you know how sometimes we fail ourselves. Haha! So there, only Mr. Pure Energy finished until the other end. Partida naman sa 'kin, I still jogged on our way back.

After that, Jun and I had our fair share of 'kada' moments. That's how we call each other by the way. So highschool I know, but who careeess!? *taas kilay*

We were also teasing Ruel and Sheena the whole time hence their picture below. Once and for all Ruel, hindi ka crush ni Sheena kaya wag kang masyadong suplado. I-add mo na sya sa Facebook. Hahahaha! Uh-oh, I'm losing control over my words but I'm definitely not taking them back. Friends, this is what happens when I blog feeling hyper. Yes, at 3 in the morning. Nocturnal person, right heerreee! xD

momeeentss

Breakfast followed but we were not able to take 'breakfast' pictures. The whole time we were in Calaguas we ate like hungry dinosaurs - not minding we have blogs waiting for the littlest detail. I apologize. I promise to do better next time. Pinky swear, anyone? :)

Knowing that we were heading to Bagasbas by around 9am, we squeezed in a short pictorial. We also took our last dip in Calaguas waters. Too bad we didn't have underwater cameras. As understandable as it is, everyone's scared to bring their cameras near the water. Better luck next time dearies, I wish we have an underwater camera in Boracay.

fave shots ♥

We allotted ample time for preparing our things and probably ourselves too. We were the first group, again, to ride the boat. We took the same good seats as we had on our way there. It took a while before we left as we waited for the others to arrive. If I'm not mistaken, which I hope I'm not, we left Calaguas at around 10am. The boat ride this time is way better. The waves were more calm and according to them, we are no longer against the current. You can roll eyes as you please, I felt the same when I'm being refreshed of my Physics. {Or was that Chemistry? Hehe. I kid!}

We were almost back in the port at around 1pm but luck was against us. The water was too shallow for us to dock so we waited until we can pass. We arrived at the port almost an hour after. At the port, several jeepneys were waiting for us. They brought us to where we can transfer to the bus that will bring us to Bagasbas. We were there at around 3pm.

We had our super duper mega late lunch at Surfer's Inn. It was still included in the package. Sulit trip is sulit. :) We hurried to finish our food to make way for the day's highlight.. surfing!!  We availed of their 1 hour surfing tutorial for 400 pesos inclusive of the surf board rental and the kuyang instructor services.

in case these will be our last photos
As expected, we were briefed first - types of surf board, parts of the surf board, techniques, tips and horror stories. Hahaha! They were sorta sexist as they keep on reminding about girls' faults when it comes to actual surfing. Kesyo after the semplang inuna pa magtali ng buhok bago hanapin ang surf board.. Common guys, I know I proved you wrong. xP

How's the surfing experience, you may ask. It was difficult and frustrating at first. I thought I won't be able to stand at that damn board. But after a few tries, and slowly learning the techniques.. I made it!! It feels so good to have reached the shore standing at that surf board. Heaven, pare! I felt so proud of myself. Hahaha! I have this feeling I get judged when it comes to physical activities because I look fragile and pa-girl, but I see to it that I prove everyone wrong.

with kuya bob, thank youu!!

Moving on, at around 5pm, we're done with our first time surfing experience {except for Jun who's tried it already in La Union.. or Baler?!} We freshened up at Surfer's Inn and had our dinner there too. It's no longer included in the package, by the way. We only ordered in advance before we went surfing so that as soon as we're done, our dinner's ready.

We all thought that we have to hurry to make it to Melvic's van transfer to the bus terminal.. but we're wrong! We had quite a lot of time waiting for our departure. Good thing they provided rooms where guests can rest or take a quick nap. We really can't ask for more from this package. :)

The moment we were able to charge.. we were hyper kids again. Kung kelan pauwi na, that's when we had our group shots. Magaling!

now let me see those funny faces

At around 8pm, we left Bagasbas. Several vans brought the guests to the bus terminal where we caught our ride back to Manila. It was another 9pm to 8am bus ride but we didn't mind, nevertheless. We all went back to our home cities happier kids with another travel milestone in life.

Aaaanndd speaking of milestone..Goal #11. Surf in Calaguas - CHECK!!

Stay tuned for my itinerary, expenses and some link lovin' post.. that's up next! :)

day1: i left my heart in calaguas

I left my heart in Calaguas. ♥ Not literally though because if so, I would have died. Haha! Here goes my pathetic humor again. Moving on, I went there last month with my forever travel buddies - Sheena and Dwin, my classmate back in college - Jun, and my projectmates - Monica and Ruel. Stop wondering why everyone is related to me. I arranged this trip, that's why. But as Sheena said, I didn't have a hard time planning for this since all I had to do is to contact Melvic of Calaguas Hullabaloo Island Tours.

Initially, we planned to avail the 3 days, 2 nights package for P3700 each. It was just unfortunate that there's typhoon in Bicol so we had to resort to the shorter package, 2 days, 1 night for P3200. We already paid P1850 each (half of 3700 supposedly) prior to the trip, so in the last day we only paid Melvic P1350.

By the way, the package includes almost everything except for breakfast in day1 and dinner in day2 (technically the first and last meals). To list down the inclusions - round trip fare Manila-Daet-Manila (DLTB bus), land and boat transfers, tent accommodation, environmental fees, camp meals and complimentary drinks.

We chose Cubao as our pick up point. We were there at around 8PM but the bus left at around 9PM. Good thing we left Manila during the night, it made sleeping in the bus easier. Imagine being wide awake for 12 to 13 hours while traveling. Juskoday, diba? We arrived in Daet at around 7AM. They dropped us at Jollibee just in time for breakfast. At around 8AM, they picked us up again then dropped us off somewhere to transfer to a jeepney. It was a quick land transfer and at around 8:30AM, we were in the port.

just left the port

It took a while before we left the port as we had to sign waivers and wait for the others to arrive. We were the first group to ride the boat hence we were able to choose good seats. True enough, those who were seated in both ends of the boat got wet even before reaching Calaguas. Madiskarte travel tips from yours truly. ;)

Our boat had some technical difficulties few minutes after leaving the port. We weren't informed of what happened nevertheless we didn't mind. What was supposedly 2-hour boat ride became around 4 hours not just because of the technical difficulty but because of the waves too. The waves were crazy perhaps because of the typhoon. We reached Calaguas at around 1PM. Lo and behold, the island was worth it!

my first shot of the island

By the time we arrived, the tents are not yet prepared. Surprisingly, there are cottages in the island where we put our stuff first. After we have settled, you know what's next. Endleeesss, picture taking!

outfit to Calaguas. can I just say i love my vest? :)

We chose to rest first before trying the Calaguas waters. We were also starving at that time since it's past lunch time already. Good thing friends never run out of things to do and matters to talk about. :D Life, love, career and everything else under the sun. Friends got them all covered. I know you all agree. :)

Can't exactly remember when our lunch was served but one thing's for sure, it was a late lunch. Meeeh, I hate it when I get hungry but you're forgiven, guys! By the way, it was a buffet with two viands, rice of course, dessert and free flowing water. :P The food may not be the best, but they're not bad either. Remember, it's a trip for less than five thousand. Know what you deserve.

bonding by the beach

After our tummies got full, we headed to the beach. I swear it's the best beach I've been to so far. It's not only about the perfect blue skies, clear waters and fine sand.. It's more of the relaxed vibe of the place. Perfect for beach bumming, reflecting, forgetting about the rest of the world. If you find me exaggerating, I suggest you see it for yourself. And I suggest you tag me along. :)

my sexaaay back

By late afternoon, our guides invited us to trek up the mountain to see the island from above. Everyone from our group went along except for Dwin. He chose to finish his work of art in the sand. Whatever, Dwin! :P However, Sheena and Monique being the wimpy kids that they are, surrendered after reaching the first hill. I still love you though, my wimpy girls. Haha! So there, only Ruel, Jun and I went on. It was nice seeing Calaguas' full view from the mountain. It was worth my few hundreds baby steps. Hingal kabayo man, may picture naman.

overlooking Calaguas

As night time approaches, we prepared for the socials. Although there is a makeshift bathroom we opted to take a bath by the poso and only change clothes in the bathroom. Of the entire trip, this is the most difficult part for me. I am not the sensitive type when it comes to restrooms but a makeshift one is entirely different. Then again, I overheard Melvic's planning to renovate that so it must not be a worry for future Calaguas visitors.

As soon as we were ready we hit the mobile bar. The drinks were free but as usual, I did not get to avail the said perk. I don't drink nor smoke. Read that, mother? :) I am still your most obedient daughter. Haha!

gimik ala Calaguas

Before calling it a night, Jun, Sheena and I had some sort of heart to heart talk while the rest got first dibs on our tents.

me don't likey!

My pegs for the upcoming wedding I have to attend. You won't believe me when I say I hate dressing up for formal occasions but I really do. I'm your resident casual chic if you still haven't noticed. Several more days and I'll be forced to look as decent as the girls in the photos below. Me don't likey! :S

swimsuit hunting in this time of the year, really

All the while I thought my next blog post would be our Calaguas Trip. Meeh, I was wrong. Rather, I'll be sharing photos of swimsuits I've been gushing about the whole day. You won't believe how addicted I am.  There are three brands I'm currently stalking - Anemone from Nothing But Water, Soak and Nudo.

Let's begin with Anemone. This is my favorite brand so far. They have the prettiest prints and styles. Only that it's the most expensive among the three. Good quality definitely comes with a price.

My dream swimsuit.  It costs around P2800 for the pair. Expensive, I know. I almost bought it the first time we went to Nothing But Water, Galleria. Good thing I was able to control myself because at it's price, it's something I really should think about.

Monica's bet. Posting it as well because I somehow kinda like it too. P2600 for a pair. Who thinks we should get them? Help us decide. :)

Moving on, next to Anemone is Soak . Cool styles for a lower price. I haven't seen their store but we are scheduled to do so as soon as our payroll accounts get replenished. I can't wait, seriously.

Sailor Bandeau for P1800. Unfortunately, 'Small' is their smallest size. I can only hope and pray it fits me well. I'll find out few days from now. Can you guys cross your fingers for me?

Costa del Sol Ribbon High Waist for P1650. Just because I want to give high waist swimsuits a try. I love its colors too but my evil sister said it reminds her so much of Hulk. Whatever!

Tory Ruffled Bandeau for P1750. Perfect for flat chested girls like me. Ruffled tops tend to make your chest seem busy that they will no longer notice your lack of.. uhmm.. gift up there. Haha!

Lastly, Nudo. I've been checking out their Facebook account but none has caught my fancy yet. We also planned to visit their boutique come payday. Swimsuit hunting in November. A little difficult but nevertheless fun.

BORACAY, here we come!! :))

Anemone
Robinson's Galleria, 3rd Floor
TriNoma, Level M2

Soak
CABANA, 2nd floor of Nail Spa, 109 Gamboa St. Legaspi Village, Makati (5 min. walk from Greenbelt 1)
Retail Lab, 2nd fl. Archaeology Wing, Powerplant Mall Makati (beside happy lemon)

Nudo
Robinson's Galleria, 3rd Floor
Greenhills, 3rd Floor

just the usual day out

Nothing really special aside from the fact that I found the photos below too cute not to share. Please tell me you agree. Because really, you have no choice. :)

Anyway, these were taken at SM Fairview.. again! You have to understand, when we get bored we just throw whatever shirts and shorts outfit then we go to the nearest mall. I honestly don't think I can live somewhere far from the city. I actually once thought of challenging myself to live in the province for a month just for a change. As obvious as it is, my work couldn't allow it.

Going back to our day out, the highlight was when Fey played in the ball pit. My sister Dana accompanied her and I died of envy. Hahaha! Never in my childhood days have I played in a ball pit. Meron na ba nun some N years back? :P

seeing double?

is it just me or this really looks like a napkin ad?

my photography skillz

Before going home, we bought our niece her then dream toy, cash register. She cried for it many times and her dad totally hates it when she cries for whatever she wants. Being the kunsintidor aunt that I am, I helped the little girl ask for it. I can never see myself disciplining kids. Meeehh, now you know my weakness.

thanks, dadeeh

Speaking of weakness, I also get weak when I don't get to eat dinner. I have this bad habit of not eating on time and it's only when I hear my stomach growl that I'm reminded I haven't eaten. What's the point, you may ask. E kasi hindi pa ko kumakain at nagugutom na ko! Bakit nga ba nagpaligoy ligoy pa ko? :P Hahaha!

yet another fun teambuilding

Good morning Universe! :) I unintentionally woke up early today and while I'm still too lazy to crawl out of my bed, blogging is the only productive thing I can do.

Last month {yeeess, one month ago na lang ang backlog ko}, we had our teambuilding in Antipolo with our previous teammates. What happened was, our team had to ramp down because of budget issues. Only four of us were left to suffer.. oops, i mean to continue with the upcoming releases. :) The others either transferred to another team or to another project. Good thing we still have the budget for everyone, we were able to afford an out of town teambuilding.

M & O were the organizers. They found 3B Resort in Antipolo as the most feasible venue, affordable and accessible. I'll update you guys with the rates and whatnots tomorrow night. As obvious as it is, I know nothing since I'm not the organizer. When I'm not the organizer you really can't expect me to care. Hahaha! :)))

the team plus our ampon

We hired a van going to Antipolo so we managed to bring dinner and tons of chips and drinks. We had spaghetti and pancit malabon from Ambers, pizza from Pizza Hut and as I've said tons of chips and dips. That night was a night of alcohol and MSG. That's healthy living as it's finest.

To keep the night from being boring, we played Taboo and Guesstures. Taboo before swimming and Guesstures after. They also boozed in between. Take note, I said THEY. :) Funny how private people share almost everything about their life when drunk. On the other hand, makulit ones multiply their kakulitan about ten times when drunk. One puked endlessly, one had aching stomach, one slept just about anywhere. I love you guys. :*

gutom na gutom na gutom :P

playing Taboo

don't drink and swim :P

Playing Guesstures

We slept for like 2 to 3 hours only then we had to checkout from the resort. We were dropped at Eastwood, ate breakfast at Jollibee, travelled home and probably zoned out as soon as we hit our beds.

good morning, Antipolo

Another one for the books. No matter where life takes me, I am definite I'll never forget this team. And yes, I speak like I have plans of leaving.

Breakfast na tayo? :)
