catching up series: this one's for the dads

Excruciatingly long series, I know. It's just that there's no way I won't finish this. By hook or  by crook, everything will be written here. There's not much happening actually so that's exactly the point. Kaunti na nga lang hindi ko pa ba maisusulat lahat?

So where are we? There, Papi and Yags' joint birthday celebration. I might have mentioned this before but whatever. My father and cousin happen to share March 1st as their birth date. Oo, March. March pa 'to. Hahaha! Pero sabi ko nga, pasasaan ba't makakahabol din tayo. :P After this, there's my niece's birthday celebration and then days out with friends and the traditional mid-year photo dump dedicated for the kiddos. End of the year's first half. Catching up series over. And then I'll laugh a celebratory evil laugh dahil sa wakas tapos na.

my brother's mini family ❤️

But wait, because I'm in the mood to blab non-sense, I have a trivia! Hehe! Ready? Did you know that I haven't been going out since the second half of the year started? Of course there are chapel visits and occasional trips to the mall, alone or with the sister, but that's that. I stopped meeting friends on purpose just because I feel like everything's a mess when my blog is neglected aka not up-to-date with my life. HAHAHA! I.am.that.weird! Para bang pause muna until I get to settle my unfinished businesses with the blog. I shake my head at the thought pero ganun talaga eh. I didn't choose the weird life, the weird life chose me. Hahaha!

I have so many other irrelevant things to say but it came to me that I was supposed to blog about a certain birthday celebration so I'm going back now. In 3, 2, 1.. let's talk about our family day out.

It was the usual visit to Grotto but nonetheless, for the lack of a better term, special. It's actually nice to have that church as something that binds us as a family. I tell you this, my other sister {the one next to me? the chubby one, remember? hehe! ✌️} can go on weeks without visiting the house {'cause she's independent like that!} but when our father says we'd go to Grotto, she cooperates in a heart beat. Dali dali din syang uuwi partly because she has no choice and partly because she likes the idea too.

So anyway, first things first syempre. We ate at a nearby diner before proceeding to the church. We brought cake and ice cream as sweeteners -- literal sweeteners. We sang the birthday song much to my mom's disgust {hehehe!} and we took lotsa photos much to my mom's disgust again. Moms are Debbie Downers and I won't let anyone say otherwise. I love my mom though, don't get me wrong. {pero KJ pa rin sya. hahaha!}

❤️❤️❤️

❤️❤️❤️

At the church, we forced the birthday boys to light their birthday candles 'cause again it's their birthday which makes them birthday boys which forces them to light birthday candles. Hehe! Too bad there was no mass and the church closes early when it's a weekday. But I was able to squeeze in a short photo shoot for my products. Yep, I sell boho bags over at @shopteepee. Again that's TEEPEE, Instagram @shopteepee. Again, that's.. joke lang! Hindi ko na uulitin pero paki follow naman. Haha!

haha! love this photo!

Teepee's mowdel ❤️

And oh, that was Mithy's first official lakwatsa too! Excluding of course her regular checkup and vaccine trips. She was just three months then and we barely felt her presence. Pero ngayon, nakoooo, she makes our whole world go round. Every single day sya ang bida because of her crazy antics and God-given cuteness. It's amazing what babies can do, right? The joy they bring, the stress they take away, the sakit ng balakang, the pinong kurot, the sampal sa mukha..  Haha! Kidding! But no seriously, if a baby can't melt your heart, hindi ka tao! Hahaha!

I guess this is where it ends for now. I'm blabbing too much. Somebody stop meeee! :P

catching up series: triple baptism

So yeah. Three of my nephews got baptized sometime in February and as unbelievable as it is, my cousins trusted me with the responsibility of documenting such a monumental event in the lives of their kids. Ako? Talagang ako? To think, I've never made it to any baptismal ceremony and I already have about five goddaughters/godsons. Oops! Well, I bet they didn't know so trust me they did. Hehe! Kung alam lang nila

Knowing I had quite a big role, I took the occasion rather too seriously. I was at the parish way, wayyy ahead of time together with our ever punctual granny. We spent our waiting time over bread at a nearby Red Ribbon and since it was the first time I was out with the gramma, it felt special. Considering the usual lifestyle these days, spending alone time with the elders has become rare and precious. At least me thinks! And yes, that was a random thought! :P

Anyway, I took the liberty of taking photos inside the church. Medyo dyahe 'cause while most of the guests were sitting down, ayun ako palakadlakad. Pero syempre push lang! Hahaha! I made sure to take photos of the actual baptism rite. First it was Moymoy, then Papao and lastly, Hael. Moymoy was hilarious as he was scared to lie there and get wet. Even the priest was coolly laughing at him. Papao was the most chill probably because he was the youngest and he had no idea of what's happening. Hehe!

hey that's me! finally an appearance :P

I was among the first ones to set foot in the reception venue too. I hurriedly took photos of the place and the food bago man lang magkagulo. Hehe! I felt like I was able to give the {photographer} role justice. Naks nemennn! Although when it was time to eat, uhm uhh, medyo nakalimutan ko yung role ko. Hahaha! Understandable right? Pagkain yun eh! Hehehe! Cordon bleu, for the win!

I have to say that the occasion perfectly served as the chance to finally see my nieces and nephews after ages. Three of them I haven't seen everrr! Of course it was also nice to see the cousins again but I was more excited about the kids. Hehe! Anong bago dun? I love my auntie status so much if that escaped you. Gahh! Kids, kids, kids!

We spent the rest of the afternoon at their place but while the younger generation was having an after party of sorts, I stayed with the oldies for an oldie but goodie kwentuhan. Such a kill joy, Apple Joy! :P

days like this ❤

Look who's back earlier than expected. Ha! I deserve a pat on the back. Now who wants to do the honor? Come onnn, ayaw nyo? Hehehe! Anyway, can you tell I'm happy? A couple of things make me really, genuinely, lighthearted these days -- props to the big Guy up there. I won't spill all the beans tanayt but we can at least begin with our family days out here and there. I know you will all agree with me when I say that one's family is indeed one's anchor to sanity. In fact, every time I feel blue, I do a virtual assessment of my life and the thought of my family instantly makes me feel better. Thought pa lang yun ah?! What more when we get to bond, eat out and visit the church together? Total pick-me-upper!

girls will always be..
GIRLS!

❤❤❤

One of those precious days was this -- another Grotto sesh. We had late lunch at where else, Da Best! I just knew we'll be back.  Hahaha! It was a bigger feast compared to the last time that we were there because this time, we tagged along Yags {my cousin} and Faye. Mommy {my cousin's wifey} couldn't make it 'cause she had to look after Avi, their four-month-old baby. Another reason why it was a grand feast? It was papi's treat! Ahh, our old man. Still never fails to ensure our tummies' happiness. Hehehe! And oh, don't look for food photos. I was preoccupied with kulit and no one wanted to take the role of a photographer. Okaaay. We had sisig, liempo, papaitan, kare-kare, kaldereta, daing na bangus and sinigang na hipon though.

Speaking of being preoccupied by my niece, here's a video she took while I was feeding her. Pinakain mo na, pinagtripan ka pa. Hahaha! But my father said it best, her kakulitan is the funny and entertaining type, definitely far from being annoying. And you have no idea just how malakas she is to my father. My love for kids must have come from somewhere, now we all know. :)

After we have survived food coma, we transferred to its neighboring church -- Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto. It's a no-brainer! If we'll attend a mass as a family, it should be in Grotto. Although of course, it isn't a regular thing and we visit other churches too if it's only me or my sister, or my mom and any of my sibs. Also, we don't usually finish a mass {we usually just pray} but this time we had to 'cause we were with Yags. And honestly, I loved how we sat there quietly and just listened for an hour or so. Really should happen again. ❤

On another news, let's all welcome the month of May. Should be a good one! :)
