catching up series: faye turns 6

It seems just like yesterday when Faye turned five and now she's six. Woah! Time has no chill! Srsly, ang bilis bilis ng panahon! Aside from Faye turning six, Mithril turned one too last November. And then the following month, Avie turned two. If you've just tuned in to this blog, they are my nieces. Mithril is my brother's daughter while Faye and Avie are my cousin's babies. They are the ones who make my bum life bearable, happy even.

So anyway, Faye celebrated her birthday at home. It was a barbie-themed DIY party. Ate Tin {Faye's mom} and I take pride in the fact that we can pull off parties on our own. She cooks and bakes while I do the decorations. My sister, Dana, helps out too! So for this celebration, aside from the usual birthday banner and dessert table decoration, I came up with balloon columns too. Sobrang naaliw ako sa paggawa that I did it again for Mithril's and Calvin's birthdays! I actually miss decorating. Makahanap nga ng may birthday. Hehehe!

not bad for a first timer :P

believe it or not, this is a cake!

For the third time around, Faye spent her special day with classmates and friends. Can you believe it? She has her own social circle now! Hayy, I still can't digest the fact that my "panganay" is all grown up. By the way, I hosted the party too. We played stop dance, the boat is sinking, trip to jerusalem and longest greeting. My favorite was trip to jerusalem, it was so fun watching the kids fight for a chair. Hahaha! The boat is sinking was funny too 'cause it was Faye who got eliminated first. Tablado ang birthday girl!

After the game, of course it was time to eat! We weren't able to take much decent photos because their living room was a mess! You know, where there are kids, there is chaos. Hehehe! There was a lot of playing, running around and pissing each other. We decided to have them watch cartoons to calm them down but in the end, they still opted to play. What can I say? Kids will always be kids!

catching up series: faye is five

Faye is fiveee! Can you believe that? No? Me neither! TIME FLIES SOOOO FAST! Seems just like yesterday when she's a tiny baby and now -- and nowww, my goodness, she's five! What makes it worse is that she'll be an elementary student already this coming school year. I really should get used to it, my "panganay" is no longer a baby. {PS. That makes Avie my pangalawa and Mithril, the new kid on the block that I'll be blogging about next, my pangatlo. They're all my nieces though. I'm just an awesome aunt so..}

Going back, Faye celebrated her birthday in school with a frozen-themed parteyy. Of course it was her mom who did majority of the work but yours truly, the best aunt ever, worked on the decorations. I made her a birthday banner, designed letter standees and printed frozen thingamajigs for the dessert buffet table. Then my sister and I worked our magic on the arrangement the day itself. Too bad we only had curtains as table cloth. Sayang ang skirting skillz ko. Kidding! Hindi ako marunong nun. :P

love how this turned out ❤️

took me days to finish this. #career

Now here's something funny. Of course there was a mini program for the kids. Prior to the occasion, it's been agreed that my other sister, Anit, would be the host. But as we expected, she didn't make it to the party. Ayun, I had no choice but to take on the role. Haha! It was my first time to ever host something and luckily adrenaline kicked in. I sang happy birthday {akalain mo yun eh I don't sing in public :P}, administered the games together with mommy and Dana, and entertained the kids with my non-sense quips. And although I like to believe that it was good enough, I wouldn't get myself into trouble next time. Hahaha!

Princess Elsa and her best friends, Jela & Jas ❤️

Right: good ol' stop dance with Vince stealing the limelight

eating timeee!

We also had a simple celebration at home after -- just the family and few of mommy and Faye's school friends. And just like the usual when Faye would invite friends over, it was a riot in the playroom. There was the occasional running around the house too and finally the cry fest when it was parting time. Haha! Why must kids be so entertaining?

time flies so fast

I still can't believe our baby is four already. Insert my cliché blog post title: time flies sooo fast!!

She celebrated her birthday late last month at home. That brought almost 30 little rascals in their humble living room. Can you imagine my excitement? I love, love kids! I don't even know why.

Morning of her birthday, I rushed a little something just to make things a notch sweeter, err cuter - her birthday banner! I was so happy with the outcome considering it's the first time I ever made one. Feeling crafty tuloy ako! But seriously, I used to maintain a scrapbook back in college so I'm really into the gupit-gupit, dikit-dikit thingamajigs.

it looks better in person
please maniwala kayo :P

Pretty much everything was prepared by mommy {my niece's mom} but of course there's nanay {mommy's mom} and their household help to assist her. We had the usual pancit-spaghetti-chicken combo; kare-kare and rice for the grown ups; tons of sweets for the kiddos - cake, cupcakes, brownies, chocolates, candies; and finally the chocolate fondue and trays of marshmallows. It wasn't really a good sight for diabetic people. :P

When I found out that the kids are coming, I ran down the stairs like a headless chicken 'cause I badly want to witness Faye's grand entrance. I've seen her interact with other kids pero iba 'to, it was her first time to celebrate her big day with her schoolmates. Surprisingly, she wasn't the feel-na-feel-ko-ang-birthday-ko type of celebrant. She just sat among her classmates while their teachers do their best effort to squeeze everyone in.

It surprised me all the more seeing her receive and eventually open her gifts. She just stood in one corner while silently unwrapping them. It seems not so long ago, we even have to help her tear the wrapper and stuff, and now.. she can do almost everything by herself. Haayy, why do babies grow up so fast?

immediately tried the makeup on #kikayproblems

It was a disaster come eating time. The poor kids didn't have tables to eat on. We weren't that prepared 'cause supposedly the party will be held in their school. Plans were altered late hence the missed details. Still, the situation was far from being maddening. I was even entertained by the kids' mishaps. One even dropped his chicken as soon as he opened his food. He went like "nalaglag yung chicken kooo!!" Hahaha! Kids will always be adorable, well, at least in my eyes.

Then there's the traditional birthday song and blowing of candles. I'm bad at singing but I had no choice but to lead the kids. Sunod naman sila with matching sigaw sigaw pa. After that, it was time to feast on the sweets. They obviously loved the candies and marshmallows more than their meals. At that point, they were starting to scatter around the house. Dun dun dun dunnnn!

happy fourth, baby girl :*

Before they get totally lost in their own world, mommy and daddy gave her their gift. She actually played with it for a few minutes with her auntie Joyce then she lead the scamps to her playroom. It was a riot! Kids nowadays are so hyper, have you noticed? But the chocolates they devoured might be the culprit too.

The kids were fetched by their parents/guardians one by one. When Faye realized it, she said something like "konti na lang kalaro koo". Haha! We had to explain to her why her classmates had to leave already. Good thing her auntie Shell {our cousin, her daddy's sister} arrived, complete with gifts and pambobola, before all the kids went home. How can she possibly be sad when auntie Shell's presents are kid-friendly kaartehans, makeup for one. She must be thinking to herself, di na hahadlangan ni daddy 'to.

We spent the rest of the night catching up with our cousin and her kids. Pero syempre, with yaya duties pa rin ako. I'm actually considering adding that to my resume - 1 year yaya experience. Hahaha! Kidding! :P

random rants and a birthday celebration

I realized how this blog became sorta kinda my journal and scrapbook at the same time. Just so you know, I used to maintain a scrapbook until I stopped after I graduated from college. It pains me that I have to abandon that but at least I have my blog now. My point is that.. no matter how I get excited to post recent happenings {or feelings if you'd believe I have that}.. I cant.. until I have accomplished everything that's on my draft. And add to that chronologically as they took place in my life. My OCD is not helping with this, really. :P

All I want to say is that, I have lots on my mind right now like 2013 goals - career wise and personal, thoughts about life and so on.. BUT my draft says I should blog about my niece's birthday celebration at TongYang so here I go. But please don't get me wrong, I want to blog about this too. It's just that my mind, and probably my heart and soul too {hehe}, wants to explode already with all sorts of things. Alam mo ba yun?!! If you've gone through quarter life crisis, you'd understand. But if you're yet to experience that, I say you prepare yourself big time. Soon you'll thank me for warning you. And oh, baby sister, hope you're reading this.

Enough of the drama. Because really, I hate drama. My friends can attest to that. But sometimes, life has its special way of forcing you into things.. hence my drama. But as I've said, ENOUGH. So tama na. Pwede ba? Jusme, loka loka!

*shifts to normal self to continue* So mid last month, we celebrated my niece's birthday at TongYang. The day before that, they had a kiddie party back at home that I wasn't able to attend. The second time around though, I made sure to fly from Eastwood to Fairview. I made it, albeit a little late. What's new with that anyway?

yet another pig out session

happy birthday, dearie :*

Like the usual, we headed to Tom's world for some amusement and singing. xD Perfectly for the occasion, my niece was the star of that videoke session. She sang and danced to the tune of Reflection - her current favorite song. Oh how I miss that darling. It's more than a month already since I last went home. I miss everyone of course, but I always, always, miss her the most.

when will my reflection show? ♫♬

And sorry if this blog post doesn't have coherent thoughts. I promise in 2013 - NO MORE MESS! Who thinks I should change my twitter username and tumblr URL, like right NOW!?

Update 07.28.2013
I've recently changed my tumblr URL. Let's keep it a secret for now. I need you to understand, please. Hahaha! Nagdrama na?
