catching up series: obligatory undas story

Happy hump day, folks! Just thought I'd make this day a productive one by (1) coming up with a blog post, (2) finally sending my resume to JobStreet and (3) doing the laundry. For the record, I know how to wash clothes, people. I've always been accused of knowing nothing about household chores but that's so untrue. Just thought I'd clear my name of that accusation. Haha!

So where are we in catching up? November, yeah? Finally we're getting closer to celebrating the New Year here. Hehe! I can't wait 'til I put this catching up thing to a close and finally talk about 2016. Anyway, let's talk about the past All Soul's day or undas as we say it in Filipino.

Coming from a huge family, we always have two trips to the cemetery. We visit Manila Memorial for our late relatives from the father side and Sanctuario de Paz for my dear lolo from the mother side. This year, we first visited Sanctuario. It wasn't really planned but it was good that our cousins were there when we arrived. It's been a while since we last visited lolo as a big family 'cause most of my cousins have their own families now. And speaking of having families of their own, kuya Jong, the eldest cousin, is driving us crazy with his growing number of kids. He already has six, again sixxxx, babies. Nakakaloka! To think their not well-off. If I only have the right to knock him some sense. But mom can't help but drop lines of sermon for kuya.

ABADILLA CLAN, REPRESENT!

'sup lo?

The week after that, we went to Manila Memorial Park. It was the first time also that we made it to the cemetery with the cousins plus their wifeys/hubbies and kids. I have to say that the past All Soul's day was a memorable one. It became a reunion of sorts for both family sides. And oh, if you were looking for Mithy, we didn't take her with us on purpose because she hasn't been baptized yet at that time. Ayaw syang isama ng nanay ko no matter what we say. Hehe! Avie, on the other hand, was sick then so ate Tin wasn't able to go too. It could have been a full cast play date.

We capped the night with Dinner at Max's. Of course the kids simply continued the riot there, especially Faye and Pops. We call them the frenemies 'cause they would always fight but then they didn't wanna separate. Hehe! Then there's Carin trying to fit in too. Kagulo! More of the cousins' chaos actually in the coming posts. I'll be blogging about Faye, Mithy and Avie's consecutive birthday celebrations so expect more baby cuteness this side of the blogosphere.

birthday double up

Whuut? It's almost September! Time flies so fast. You've probably heard that line bajillion of times already. It's like few weeks back I was celebrating my birthday with friends and now I'm almost two months late with my blog update. Yes, my birth month happens to be July. Shussh.

Moving on, I had to celebrate my birthday a little early because Mhog and I share the same birth month. He's born July 9 while I, July 17. We checked the calendar for the perfect day to go out and poof July 13 is exactly in the middle of our birthdays. Perfect, indeed.

Originally, our plan is just to chill at Nok's place then buy food somewhere near when we get hungry.  But when everyone's in their place already, Nok had the brightest idea ever.. go to TriNoma! Parang sinundo lang namin syang lahat then off we go to the mall. Ang swerte ng baklaaa! :)

We chose to dine at Max's. Of course, we were catching up while eating. The last time I saw Jun and Job was when we trekked Pinatubo. Mhoi and Nok? I can't even remember the last time I saw them. Close friends pala ah? Hahaha!

thinner days, gaawdd

One of the topics we had that I can clearly remember is health. Grabe! We were a bunch of 26 to 27 years old people but some of us are taking meds like that of a 40 to 50 something aged people. Palibhasa, as the generation continues, palala na ng palala ang lifestyle - bad habits, vices etc. A reality check once in a while won't hurt.

ayaan, antatakaw pa :P

So anyway, after our dinner we went strolling. We stayed the longest at the beauty section of the department store. Hala sigeee, subok ng make up ang dalawa. Hahaha! I, on the other hand, just watched. Mhog and Jun walked around, obviously bored. Ang ending? Ako pa ang napabili ng eye liner recommended by Jhov. Hahaha!

girls will always be girls :P

Jun and Job had other commitments so they had to leave early. Mhog, Nok and I spent the rest of the night at Starbucks. Endless kwentuhaaann with a touch of seriousness. I'm really close to these two because back in college, the three of us used to belong to a group we refer to as Barag and with the tag line "Hindi nabibili ng pera ang kaligayahan". Hahaha! Ang kakornihan ng college days. Bow.

Nok gave Samantha as her name. ugh.

We ended the night when Nok had to leave already for another commitment aka gimik. :P

things i love saturdays: pick-me-uppers

I was supposed to blog about how awful I've been feeling lately but then again I'm feeling a little better at this very moment hence this "things i love" post.♥

Let's begin with my recent hauls. Got blazers, animal print tops {ohmigosh, I'm addicted} and a logo top that well.. uhmm.. speaks so much about me! Haha! Please agree. You have to make me feel better. :P And if you're a twitter follower, you already know they made my wallet look anorexic. Sad wallet, happy closet, still confused me. Urgh.

retail therapist: Forever 21

Moving on, look what I got from being a loyal SM {er, Forever 21} shopper. A cutesie patootsie black doll shoes. Got it for free from my SM Advantage card points. Haha. All because I'm so diligent in getting the card out of my wallet. I wonder what will I get next?

it's cute, it's free and it's for me :D

Some more fashion related blah-blahs. I recently discovered the love for taking outfit shots. Only that they're headless! Haha! Someday I'll learn to make a decent facial expression while taking my own picture. Just as I thought I have mastered the art of multi-tasking, not for this one pala. Boo!

officially welcoming the summer with floral skirts ♥

and then trying to be fierce, rawwrr

Now for my non-fashion related pick-me-uppers.. I suddenly missed scrap booking so I grabbed my dust-collecting art materials and made this {see picture below :P}. It has found it's niche in my office whiteboard.

the incrediBorbs ♥

Now for the last pick-me-upper.. the best friend! Because really, that's what friends are for. ♫  Napakanta ka? :D But seriously, it's times like this that you get to see who's for keeps. Thanks best. I got your back too. Wenks. ;)

for good times and bad times ♥

..and if you noticed I edited my pictures ala-Instagram. I think I'm getting an iPod touch just for that. Haha! Lemme think, lemme think.

short but sweet ♥

This is going to be a short but sweet post just like the short and sweet birthday celebration my father had last Sunday. ♥ Who would have thought he's 62 already? Looks young, yes? We had studio pictorial just because we missed it, dinner at Max's just because we all have to eat dinner and polo-shopping at Penshoppe just because it feels good buying something for the father. #loveyoubigtimepapi. :*

they had to kill their diets :P
