catching up series: avie turns 2

Happy Friday, folks! Here's the third installment of the three-part birthday series -- Avie's second birthday! Checkout ate Faye's sixth birthday HERE and Mithril's first birthday HERE. I still think it's cute that the three of them celebrate birthdays consecutively. Faye on the 19th of November, Mithy on the 21st, then finally Avie on the 12th of December. Just few days apart! Diba? Sa dami dami ng araw sa isang taon! But it's actually good. One-time, big time DIY effort for the three of them. I'm actually a little worried about what's gonna happen this year 'cause I'm pretty sure I'm no longer a bum by that time {yep, currently job hunting!} and I won't have time to craft for birthday banners and other thingamajigs. I'm thinking I'd probably work on them on the weekends so I'll still have something for the kids. Yah know, I take their birthdays a little too seriously. Hehehe! #ThisAuntieLife

Anyway, Avie had a pretty much simple birthday celebration. I guess that's the norm when you're two, and even three. Because you're no longer one to have something grand and you're not yet four and you don't have a social circle yet. So for Avie, we opted to get together in their house. But of course, I still made her a banner and mommy baked her a cake. Our theme was Minnie Mouse and our little one's charm was just perfect for it.

We basically just ate the entire night -- and took photos in between. Haha! The thing with our family is we love documenting special days. Then again, it might be my influence on them. Ako naman kasi yung photographer and I initiate on taking photos. So yeah, I guess, it's because of me. Hahaha! IDK, I'm just too OC when it comes to life events. Or should I say I'm just too OC period?

And what else do you expect when the kids get together? CHAOS! Yep, that's right! Faye and Pops kept dancing the entire night -- dessert, nae nae, twerk it like miley, dazed and confused, you name it! They kept us entertained with their outrageous dance moves. I swear they only stopped when it was parting time. Hyper kids are hyper!

catching up series: mithril turns 1

Sometimes I still can't believe we have Mithy. I mean, I'm already used to having my cousins' kids around but actually having a niece from my brother is somewhat different. Mithy kind of made my auntie role, how do I say this, more concrete? Hehe! I don't know if you get me. It's hard to put into words how smitten I am. What more if I become a mother? I bet I would be twice as lovestruck.

So our dear Mithy turned one last November. Just like Avie back in 2014, we decided to have her baptized on her birthday too. Yep, I said WE. The entire family was literally involved in her birthday and christening plans 'cause how can we not get involved, they still live with us. But it was me who actually did most of the work -- and I'm not exaggerating. It was me who went to the church a couple of times, it was me who booked for a reception venue, it was me who hosted the Facebook invite, it was me who bought candles, souvenirs, balloons, etc., it was me who made the decorations, it was even me who did the budgeting. WHEWW! I swear I am so hands-on with my niece. They are so lucky I am a bum. Hahaha!

It was the same church where Avie was baptized -- Ascension of our Lord Parish in Lagro. It was nice that her ninongs and ninangs where there early, we had ample time for photo opportunities. And guess what? I am also the official photographer. Auntie Apple all rolled into one. Nahh, don't mention it. I've always known I'm awesome. Hahaha! Kidding. Well not really. Haha! Fine, I'm kidding. :P

In the usual baby fashion, she began crying in the middle of the ceremony. She cried all the more when she was blessed with the baptismal water. She was a mess by the end of the rites but we still pushed for group photos. Pasensya na baby girl, you only get to be baptized once. Hehehe!

Reception slash birthday celebration followed at Kangaroo Jack, SM Fairview. Can I just brag that it was a DIY party yet again. Our theme was Strawberry Shortcake. Can't remember how we came up with that theme? Probably 'cause they're both curly? Hehe! So anyway, ate Tin baked the cake while Dana decorated it. Since then we would call her Dana the artist. Niloloko namin sya and she would curse in response. Haha! But seriously, she practically saved the cake in the absence of fondant cutters. On the other hand, I made another pair of balloon column and as usual, the birthday banner. By far the most tedious I've done. Took me dayss, gahhh!

I wasn't able to eat much 'cause I was busy taking photos. Feel na feel ko ang pagiging punong abala. Yeah, that's how I roll. As they say, never touch anything with half of your heart. So punong abala, it is! Good thing Mithy was back to being a happy baby so no more crying crying in the reception. My brother's little family was able to roam around and take photos. I'd say we did a good job in documenting the day.

it was nice that we thought of having a family photo

It was a long day for the little one as she still had to open gifts when we came home. She loved her stuffed toys the most. Actually, she already knows how to pick stuffed toys when in the mall. Marunong na sya magturo at such a young age. There goes the problem, dada! More stuffed toys to fill the crib soon. ❤️

catching up series: faye turns 6

It seems just like yesterday when Faye turned five and now she's six. Woah! Time has no chill! Srsly, ang bilis bilis ng panahon! Aside from Faye turning six, Mithril turned one too last November. And then the following month, Avie turned two. If you've just tuned in to this blog, they are my nieces. Mithril is my brother's daughter while Faye and Avie are my cousin's babies. They are the ones who make my bum life bearable, happy even.

So anyway, Faye celebrated her birthday at home. It was a barbie-themed DIY party. Ate Tin {Faye's mom} and I take pride in the fact that we can pull off parties on our own. She cooks and bakes while I do the decorations. My sister, Dana, helps out too! So for this celebration, aside from the usual birthday banner and dessert table decoration, I came up with balloon columns too. Sobrang naaliw ako sa paggawa that I did it again for Mithril's and Calvin's birthdays! I actually miss decorating. Makahanap nga ng may birthday. Hehehe!

not bad for a first timer :P

believe it or not, this is a cake!

For the third time around, Faye spent her special day with classmates and friends. Can you believe it? She has her own social circle now! Hayy, I still can't digest the fact that my "panganay" is all grown up. By the way, I hosted the party too. We played stop dance, the boat is sinking, trip to jerusalem and longest greeting. My favorite was trip to jerusalem, it was so fun watching the kids fight for a chair. Hahaha! The boat is sinking was funny too 'cause it was Faye who got eliminated first. Tablado ang birthday girl!

After the game, of course it was time to eat! We weren't able to take much decent photos because their living room was a mess! You know, where there are kids, there is chaos. Hehehe! There was a lot of playing, running around and pissing each other. We decided to have them watch cartoons to calm them down but in the end, they still opted to play. What can I say? Kids will always be kids!
