ace water spa yet again

Yay! Super late post just because I'm super lazeh. Hahaha! Went to Ace Water Spa with the best friend several weeks ago. Thanks again to my sponsor, Belle de Jour Planner. :D

I was with my officemates-turned-friends the first time I got to try this hydrotherapy massage thing. We went to their Pasig branch then. This time, the  bestfriend and I chose their QC branch somewhere in Banahaw. And as usual, we got lost before finally finding our destination. You crazy driver! Hahaha! ILY, best friend. :*

We stayed there for around two to three hours and the reason why we left early was, again, we're already hungry. Haha! So after hours of fun and acting silly in the massage pool, we spoiled ourselves even more with an eat-all-you-can dinner at Yam Cha Seafood and Dimsum resto. Food is mediocre though, nothing really special.

There you go. Photo dump ahead. ♥

a taste of apple: undas edition

Blogger Apple, reporting for duty again. Hahaha! Just because I'm currently here at NSO waiting in vain for my queue.  In fairness naman, I arrived here at 8:3o and I'm in Step 3 na. I might teach you how to do this NSO thing in the future. Or should I teach how to do dougie na lang? Hahaha! :)))

Anyway, here's a photo dump of how we spent our Undas 2011. 10.30 - Manila Memorial Park (Father's Side) and 11.06 - Sanctuario de Paz (Mother's Side). We were supposed to be in Sanctuario 10.29 kaso epic fail.

Manila Memorial Park

First Picture. The kids in action. Only two were really working there. Two were fakers. Fakeeeers! Haha!

Second Picture. Maipilit lang ang family collage.

Third Picture. Fooling around. Look at how much my brother tried to carry her big ate but to no avail.  #heavyweights

Fourth Picture. Bida Moment. This is the first time she ever visited the cemetery and she was so fond of the flowers. As cute as ever! ♥

Fifth picture. Family picture yet again. Credits to Ate Gina. :)

Sanctuario de Paz

First Picture. Gandang Abadilla. Booo! Hahaha!

Second Picture.  PJ moment, my poging nephew.

Third Picture. Nanay and Tatay with their beautiful girls. Charot!

And as I publish this, I'm home already. Thanks to my charm for helping me claim my birth certificate. Hahaha! :))

Over and out,
Apple

october was..

..accessory shopping month. Hahaha! Forever 21 accessories at that. ;) Now I am sooo broke. The next pay day should come quick because November will be bag shopping month. Someone save me from this addiction. Haha! :))

one Friday night I got all these..

..and some more pahabol :P

and oopps.. I know I owe your blogs a visit - plus some blog award responsibilities on the side.  I'll make it up to everyone as soon as I get my life all figured out. I'm dazed, I'm confused, I'm getting crazzeeeh. I may not look like it but I am. I can never hate you enough, QLC.

what's in my huge bag?

..or better titled 'what makes my bag darn heavy?'

See the gigantic bag below? That's my current everyday slash pangharabas bag. Ain't it huge? And to make things worse, I am such a midget! Haha! :)) I usually receive unsolicited comments like "ang laki naman ng bag mo" or "para kang nagbabakasyon". You don't understand, people. I have a long list of can't-live-without stuff at kapag nawala sila, mamamatay ako {weh?}.

my ever reliable Penshoppe bag

To begin with, that mother bag contains baby bags. It has a bag organizer, kikay kit, dental kit, gadgets kit and wallet.

baby bags

Now the bag organizer keeps the stuff below.  These are crucial. I feel impaired without them. Let's get a rundown, shall we?

can't-live-without

  • tissue, in all forms possible - the dry ones, the wet ones, and fem wipes of course
  • sanitary pads - for emergency purposes
  • meds - biogesic, alaxan, kremil-s, dolfenal, and diatabs {girl scout much?}
  • band-aids - for unforgiving new pairs of shoes, for cuts, scratches and hangnails {you know  how blood and wounds drain my strength, sooo..}
  • perfume and handfoam - both in sweet pea scent. bangooo
  • deodorant - for unplanned overnights or activities
  • mirror - need I elaborate?
  • aviators - because I wear shades anytime, anywhere. walang basagan ng trip
  • book - whatever I'm currently reading, which as of this writing, is How to Walk in High Heels by Camilla Morton.
  • planner - my BDJ planner which is not in the picture because I forgot to include it and I didn't want to arrange my stuff like that again. Pero hindi ako tamad huh, hindi talaga. :P
  • and lastly, my umbrella ella ella eh

Moving on, my gadgets kit holds pens, flashdrive, internet stick, credit card security device, charger, connector and earphones. Sometimes it holds my lappy cords too.

gadgets kit

Next, my really not interesting dental kit. Toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash and floss. Just the basics.

dental kit

And last but definitely not the least, my kikay kit. I can never leave the house without it, bilang hindi naman talaga ako masyadong maganda. Saktong ganda lang! Hahaha! Noticed it's Hello Kitty? I think I'm getting addicted again to that annoying pa-cute cat! :P

kikay kit

  • two way cake - fanny serrano in duchess
  • powder blush - nichido true colors collection in sunkissed, which I rarely use kasi nga hindi ako tamad
  • eyeshadow - maybelline diamond glow in copper brown and elf in matte mauve
  • lipgloss - maybelline lipsmooth color bloom in pink blossom
  • lipsticks - ever bilena in off beat pink, maybelline color sensation in toffee cream and mocha pearl. mahilig sa brown si negra
  • concealer - fanny serrano in cashew
  • clear mascara - fashion 21, because I grew tired of the usual mascara and that's the only clear mascara I found
  • eyeliners - maybelline impact express smooth feltliner, so easy to apply, I am a fan
  • brushes - for the blush and eyeshadow, I do not even know how to properly address them. haha!
  • comb - everyone needs one, unless your bald
  • eyelash curler - for pretty eyes in an instant
  • tweezers - for stray kilays, tumutubo ata sila every minute. nako naman
  • nailcutter - incase I forgot to cut my nails at home

There you go. So basic yet so dami.  I hope my intended audience sees this. Ma, hope you get to read this. Hindi ako galing sa bakasyon, ok? :D

eat.pray.love ♥

Supposedly, my task for today is to take an online work related training as part of a certification program. It's been taking the back seat of my 'to do list' for like forever and I already received an email that if my account remained static until mid of October, my enrollment will be cancelled. Are they kidding me? I already worked hard for the other classroom and online trainings of that certification program so I'll never let something dumb like that to happen. But now that I finally decided to turn this day to a boring study day, tadaaaa.. ‎I cannot access their site for some reasons. What's wrong with the world, people?

Having said that, I have nothing else to do but blog. After all, this has always been my refuge. Remember this was created out of being upset with life? Haha! Anyway, enough of the blah-blahs. Let's now get to the point? And what was the point again? :P

Kidding aside, last Sunday we had an awesome family day out. It was Dana's {our youngest pulot-sa-basura sister, hahaha!} birthday celebration. The itinerary - attend mass in Grotto Church, eat at Gerry's Grill SM Fairview and spend the rest of the night at Tom's World. But before anything else, photo-ops first in our now famous yellow-walled living room.

the family that prays and eats together, stays together ♥

Our first stop was Grotto Church. For reasons unknown, this is Papi's favorite church. We used to regularly attend Sunday mass there when we were younger. As we were walking towards the church, may line pa si Papi, something like "wala na kong hinahabol". So Dana and I ran. Ayun, di kame hinabol. Hahaha!

By the way, Grotto Church is the famous church attacked by hundreds of people during the Lenten season for the 'alay lakad'. Per Bulacan's website, it has an exact replica of the Lourdes Grotto in France and it features a mock hill Calvary where life-size statues depict the passion and death of Jesus Christ. I've seen them once but definitely not during the Lenten season.

the place is park-like, pictures are inevitable {excuses :P}

After our minds and hearts were full with words of God, it was time to make our stomachs full too. Fair tayo dapat sa body organs natin. Hehe.  We headed to SM Fairview and went straight to Gerry's Grill. At first, we thought we ordered too much food as it was overwhelming. But not much to our surprise, we managed to finish everything. Look at Papi making fun of the murdered crispy pata. Our appetites won't back off to anything edible, really.

my dear pig and piglets, frog and froglets

Our last stop was Tom's World, an arcade and amusement center. Basketball, racing, percussion, indiana jones and baby's palo-palo. I think I'm getting addicted to that percussion thing. My not-so-secret dream is to learn how to play the drums. Lord, kelan po kaya {pasimpleng hiling, bow}?

where everyone is a child at heart

We headed home when we realized that the oldies {shhh, don't tell them} were getting tired already. Another awesome day in the history of our awesome lives. Haha! :P

And most important of all, for days like this, never forget to drop Him lines of gratitude. ♥ :)

the magic of hydrotherapy and friendship

Yep, this is my almost overdue Ace Water Spa experience. Went there last September 17 with teh Beth and teh Pholet. If you've been wasting your time here for quite some time now, bet you already know that they're my officemates turned real life friends. Haha! Alam nyo naman sa mundo ng showbiz, mahirap makahanap ng totoong kaibigan. Charot! Though sadly, sumakibaling channel na si teh Pholet, we still manage to keep the friendship.  We even have Bora plans this November. Kung drawing man kame, only time can tell. :D

Personally, I was never a fan of massage, spa and the likes. I prefer spending my hard earned moolah on shopping and lately, as  much as I hate to admit it, eating. ;) It just so happened that the three of us use BDJ planner and one of their coupon offers buy one take one on Ace's 4-hour hydrotherapy massage. The said massage is worth 550php. Beth and I shared one coupon and Pholet shared hers with her sister, Donna. That's a relaxing and worry-free 4 hours of your life for just 275php. Great deal, eh? But Pholet had to pay for another full amount as we were with their mom as well.

We opted to visit their newly opened branch in Pasig. Their first branch by the way is in Quezon City. The details on their website are mostly for the QC branch so I had to call them first to ask for Pasig's info. Details below. No need for reservations.

Quezon City
399 Del Monte Avenue (near cor. Banaue St.)

SFDM, Quezon City
(02) 367.8040 to 41; (02) 367.8061 to 62; (02) 415.0164

Pasig
United Street cor Brixton Street (near Pioneer)
Pasig City
(02) 451.1111

this is basically how the massage pool looks like

As for their facilities, both branches offer the same more or less. They're categorized as kid's area, soft massages, moderate massages, hard massages, hot herbal pools and lastly steam, sauna and pools.

Kid's Area
1. Kids Pool – a specially designed pool ideal for small kids. Play hide and seek in the mushroom falls as you get hit by a big water gun.
2. Floor Fountain – try “walking” on water as you enjoy the fountain.
3. Bucket Splash – cool down in this exciting “pull the string” surprise!
4. Lazy River – enjoy floating around in the current that goes the entire pool while bonding with the family.

Personal Note: I enjoyed the Lazy River a lot. Unlike in the picture, what they have in Pasig are floating boards. All you have to do is lie there and let the current do the rest. Basag trip lang yung mga kids na nakakabungo with their boards bilang naghahabulan. Boo!

 Soft Massages
1. Bubble Bed - lay down comfortably on the designed bubble bed to fully feel the air and bubbles emitted on the surface through small holes as it slightly beats down your back, buttocks and feet.
2. Bubble Pool - this facility effectively massages the temporal pressure points specifically on the back portion of the legs and hip area.
3. Bubble Massage - this system has an effect of “feel good all over” after bathing as air combined with warm water comes out on holes at the floor surface that massages the body.
4. Hydro-Acupuncture Bed - it produces the effects of acupuncture that allows a person to enjoy the pricking sensation through the use of high pressure warm water with air coming from the tiny holes within the bed surface.

Personal Note: Pasig doesn't have Bubble Massage and Hydro-Acupuncture Bed. They do have Bubble Pool and Bubble Beds. The Bubble Pool can accommodate around six people, mostly couples. Mahihiya ka maki-join. :P The bubble pool is the second among my favorites. Oo, may ranking talaga. Haha!

Moderate Massages
1.Rainfall Acupuncture - It is best enjoyed when lying face down wherein million raindrops with various intensities gently massage every part of the body.
2. Eight Nozzle Shower - this shower is designed as an alternative way of cooling down after using the hot herbal pools, steam and sauna if you do not want to use the cold pool.
3. Hydro-Buoyancy Massage - this facility uses a jet driven water from the bottom that creates suppleness to build a floating sensation especially when combined with breathing exercises.
4. Buttocks Massage - while sitting comfortably, water pressure gushes out on the surface which hits and rubs down the buttocks.
5. Jet Chair -in a sitting position, water pressure gushes out directly towards the meridian points of the body to eliminate stress and at the same time loosens up tight muscles.
6. Jet Chair with Foot Massage -in a sitting position, water pressure gushes out directly towards the meridian points of the body while simultaneously receiving foot massage.

Personal Note: The Rainfall Acupuncture got the top spot in my favorite massage list. :P  Dapa ka lang dun all you want {though every massage has its suggested time as seen in their instruction boards, who cares really?} and let your worries slip away. I also loved the Jet Chair with Foot Massage.

Hard Massages
1. Head & Shoulder Massage - The water coming from the equipment strongly hits the upper portion of the body.
2. Water Falls - the surging water from the falls strikes in all parts of the body largely on the upper portion.
3. Multi-point Massage - the surrounding wall towers with water nozzles injects variety of water pressure that massage different parts of the body.
4. Chest Jet Massage - this System is best relished in a squatting position to fully feel the water pressure that strikes directly towards your chest.
5. Waist Jet Massage - this system uses high and low water jet nozzles that produces strong water pressure.
6. Upper Body Jet Massage - rigid water pours down from the elevated jets rubbing down the upper parts of the body. This Massage system is NOT RECOMMENDED for those with osteoporosis.
7. High Pressure Massage - this system uses high and low water jet nozzles that produces strong water pressure.

Personal Note: Can I just say I hate these massages? Hahaha! The pressure can literally take off your bikini top, especially with Chest and Waist Jet Massage. I had to hold my top the whole time since these two massages were torturing me. :P

Hot Herbal Pools
1. Mint Pool – has the temperature of 36 C.
2. Jasmine Pool – will surely make you invigorated while relaxing your muscles, marked at 38 C.
3. Lavander Pool – is the hottest pool with 40 C as its temperature, while the lavander scent keeps the skin soft and smooth.

Personal Note: Among the Herbal Pools, I enjoyed the Mint Pool the most. Love the scent of the other two but I can't tolerate their super OA high temperature. Feeling ko second degree burn ang aabutin ko. Ang OA ko din noh? Hahaha!

Steam and Sauna
The Steam and Sauna will remove excess water and fats from the body. As you step outside in this area, the cool and misty natural fog that is sprayed in the area will surely complete this heavenly ambiance.
Cold Pool
This is the fastest way to cool down after using the hot herbal pools, steam or sauna. Contrast Therapy Plunge is a special hydrotherapy experience wherein an alternate plunging into the hot herbal pools and cool pool takes place. Why do you need to do this? Click here.
Lapping Pool
Approximately 25m 4-lanes swimming pool is ideal for swimmers and soon-to-be swimmers to practice their “winning” strokes.

Personal Note: If only I realized early on that I'm getting fat, I could have stayed in the steam and sauna forever. Haynakooo, take away my excess fats.

---

We only stayed there for about three hours as we were dying of hunger already. They have snack bars {or was that a resto?} but you are not allowed to have breaks during the 4-hour massage. We opted to eat somewhere else before heading home. :D

Some other notes:
* Cameras are not allowed within the pool vicinity, obviously, as everything I posted were only taken from their site.
* They are strict with proper attire. Swimsuits or anything spandex for the ladies. Trunks and cycling shorts for the gents. Boardshorts not allowed.
* Free use of lockers plus you can take the keys with you. Wear them as a bracelet or hide them in the towel rack. Shhh.
* You can not bring food and drinks. Unless you offer them a million for corkage. Chos lang. :P

clip of the day: sign seeker

Bumped into this while turning the triple W upside down again. :D

Just so you know, i'm on a 3-day vacation leave and I have all the right in the world para magpuyat. Hahaha! I'll see you in the morning, my dear pimples. {*knocks on wood}

Anyway, Nestle is celebrating their 100th year in the Philippines and they have this Kasambuhay, Habambuhay Short Film Anthology. Check out this link for the list of their titles. I only got to see the last one which is, from the title of my post, Sign Seeker.

At hindi naman masyadong obvious na na-appreciate ko siya kasi I'm blogging about it right at this very moment. Go watcheet. It's entertaining.   ;) ♥

And just like everyone else who saw this short film, I was haunted by the song too. It's Waiting for a Sign by Armi Millare of Up Dharma Down. The full version of the song isn't released yet because apparently, according to the chismax I read, Nestle owns it daw.  So for the meantime, give this short version a listen. You'll love it too.

style crush: lauren conrad

I first found her back when my red Forever 21 skirt was new. Haha! I was trying to look for tops that will perfectly match my new red skirt and among all the Google images, the picture below caught my attention.

I then researched who the girl is.. and tadaaa! She is no other than Lauren Conrad, a TV personality, author and fashion designer. Now that explains. Kaya pala ka-level ko sya magdala! Hahaha!

I especially love her casual ensembles. Nothing overboard. Not so runway looking. Diggin' them a lot. ♥

this made me want an orange skirt

things i love: september

Today, i write again. Charot! Nagpupumiling Patty Laurel lang. :P

Anyway, I terribly missed blogging. I've been gone for almost two months now. Blogging Hiatus? Writer's Block? Na-ah, let's just call it laziness. Haha! :P But really, aside from the fact that I didn't have a life for almost two months, it was just all laziness. Kill me now. I am such an irresponsible blogger.

Now let's get down to business. Obviously, this is a "things I love" post, September {and August?} edition. Basically to share what I've been doing for the last couple of months. Like anyone is interested, huh? Hold tight, fasten your seat beeelts.. this is going to beeee.. BORING! Hahaha! :))

First off, I've been eating chocolates! Yep, you read that right! My addiction is definitely back. And I don't think it has plans of leaving again anytime soon. So just in case you are aware of any cure, please do let me know. You wouldn't want me to die of Diabetes, would you? :P

Coeur de Suisse
swiss chocolate that melts in your mouth, not in your bag hahaha
it never melts, I swear! only that it gets softer, of course

Ritter Sport
in minis.. because I can't decide what to get
and my wallet can't afford to get 'em all in regular sizes

Lindt
my new favorite ♥

Next, I've been reading books. Mitch Alboms' to be specific. One day, I only got bored waiting for a friend so I dropped by National Bookstore and got Tuesdays with Morrie. Next thing I know, I have his four books. I'm done with Tuesdays with Morrie and For One More Day. Currently reading Five People You'll Meet in Heaven. Kelan pa ko naging bookworm? Since I lost my social life. Hahaha!

Tuesdays with Morrie was borrowed by a friend
hello friend, can I have my book back na? :P

Third on the list is watching movies. I've been downloading movies and buying DVDs. I have my new favorite movie, Everybody's Fine starring Robert De Niro. It was so touching {or utterly depressing?}. I cried yet again. It was a family drama, what can I do? Ehem, excuses.

via
Everybody's Fine

Having said movies, mawawala ba si Ms. Aniston? Haha! I just finished The Switch last night. What's in queue? The Break-Up and Marley & Me. Someone help me download puhlease, andami pa niyang movies sabi ni pareng Wikipedia. :S

And a "Things I Love" list is never without shopping. I have few purchases here and there. It maybe my first love but it's definitely not the apple of my eye today. Maybe tomorrow na lang ulet? Haha! Ano daw?

Lastly, my promotion. Naglevel up ang lola mo from Senior to Analyst Programmer. In all honesty, I wasn't expecting it. Though performance wise I think I deserve it {ahem ahem, ubo ubo}, tenure wise {if ever there's such term} I just think it's early. Nevertheless, it happened. It's God's love, really. ♥

So there. That was my anti-social way of spending two months of my life. I'll be back to regular programming as soon as I get my life back. Hahaha! Last week was a good start. I have Ace Water Spa aka girl bonding story for you guys! That's up next. So stay tuned. Meanwhile, let's all have a goodnight sleep.

PS.
most pictures were taken using my super high end camera phone
bear with me. :D

dream and do update

Look who's now ready to endure humiliation! Haha! Obviously, I wasn't able to complete my 25 before 25 bucket list. Epic fail, I know. But though I wasn't able to complete them before  turning 25, I promise to complete them at least while I'm 25!

And just to check how far I've gone, I'm doing an update. Lesdothis, kamoowwn! :D

4. GIVE COOKING A SHOT
Cooked carbonara for my papi on father's day. First attempt failed as it tasted like condensed milk rather than carbonara sauce. Second try succeeded. I should cook more often to really get use to it, I guess.

✿ for his special day, carbonara

5. ENROLL IN SWIMMING CLASSES
Yet another failed attempt! Me and my sister enrolled in a swimming class but we stopped after two sessions since we got so lucky with our instructor. For both of our sessions, she almost didn't go down the water and she kept complaining about how cold the water was. Anobee. There was also an instance that she didn't show up and didn't even inform us ahead of time. Better luck next time, girls.

6. BUY DEAR SELF A LAPTOP
I got myself a pink Samsung R440-JT08PH! Love love loveeeet! <3

7. HAVE EMERGENCY FUNDS
Ok, I'm guilty. I still don't have emergency funds. I have savings, so little that it cannot be called an emergency fund. :s

8. EXPERIMENT WITH MY HAIR COLOR
Can you give me until the end of August to tick this off? And can you wish me enough determination to visit the salon? I am sooo lazzeehh.

9. EAT ANYTHING STRANGE/EXOTIC

12. GO SPELUNKING IN SAGADA
This is one hell of an experience I am very willing to do all over again. I had fun squeezing into tiny holes, easing through the rocks and rappelling. Feeling ko ang galing ko. I went out of the cave dry and feeling clean as I had no slips or whatever casualty. Yabang lang. >:P

Joined a tree planting activity sponsored by Accenture and held in Marikina Watershed. I actually felt like I risked my life for this one 'cos we planted wildlings in steep slopes with no one to assist us. Hope my wildlings will grow as useful trees someday.

17. IMPROVE MY ENGLISH SKILLS
This is hardly measurable so can you just let me tick this off? Haha! Before this blog, I can hardly come up with an article written in English. I have always believed I am no writer. To my surprise {and I guess to everyone's as well}, i can write pala - maski pano. phhbt!

18. RECONNECT WITH OLD FRIENDS

I am now reconnected with the best friend I didn't see for more than a year. I was with her during my Balaw Balaw adventure and just last week for my birthday. Yay to renewed friendship! ♥

 19. READ THE BIBLE
I have downloaded an e-bible. I have to admit I don't get to read it as often but I certainly seek words from it when I need help the most.

20. JOIN VOLUNTEER WORKS
So near yet so far. I had my chance, I missed it. Better next time na naman?

Remember our crazy waka waka song and dance number? Haha! I'm uploading it again. Checkout our cuh-rey-ziness. No one will believe I'm a first timer. ;)

✿ crazy is as crazy as it can get

23. WATCH GOOD MOVIES
I honestly just watched popular movies just to tick this item off. Now I am addicted to watching movies. Bought new DVDs and currently downloading Love Happens.  Can't get enough of Jennifer Aniston.

          ✿ why just now..

24. PULL OFF A TWO PIECE SWIMSUIT
Just this summer, I bought several pairs of swimsuit. I especially love F&H's collection. Now I suddenly miss summer. Those were the months I have so much life. Stop me from ranting about work again, puhleeasse.
