catching up series: new kid on the block

We've come to the point where I'm bound to introduce the newest addition to our ever growing family -- Mithril Darlien. ❤️ What can I say? My "auntie level" just moved up one notch 'cause she's my brother's daughter. Faye and Avie, by the way, are my cousin's kids. You get the point? Even my parents are so thrilled to have her. She just made them legit grandparents. Hahaha! You should see their undeniable joy every time they play with her, all the more when she smiles or laughs. Ahhh! It's amazing what babies can do. ❤️

fresh from the tummy :P

More photos of this potato in the coming posts. You are kind of expecting that, right?

catching up series: faye is five

Faye is fiveee! Can you believe that? No? Me neither! TIME FLIES SOOOO FAST! Seems just like yesterday when she's a tiny baby and now -- and nowww, my goodness, she's five! What makes it worse is that she'll be an elementary student already this coming school year. I really should get used to it, my "panganay" is no longer a baby. {PS. That makes Avie my pangalawa and Mithril, the new kid on the block that I'll be blogging about next, my pangatlo. They're all my nieces though. I'm just an awesome aunt so..}

Going back, Faye celebrated her birthday in school with a frozen-themed parteyy. Of course it was her mom who did majority of the work but yours truly, the best aunt ever, worked on the decorations. I made her a birthday banner, designed letter standees and printed frozen thingamajigs for the dessert buffet table. Then my sister and I worked our magic on the arrangement the day itself. Too bad we only had curtains as table cloth. Sayang ang skirting skillz ko. Kidding! Hindi ako marunong nun. :P

love how this turned out ❤️

took me days to finish this. #career

Now here's something funny. Of course there was a mini program for the kids. Prior to the occasion, it's been agreed that my other sister, Anit, would be the host. But as we expected, she didn't make it to the party. Ayun, I had no choice but to take on the role. Haha! It was my first time to ever host something and luckily adrenaline kicked in. I sang happy birthday {akalain mo yun eh I don't sing in public :P}, administered the games together with mommy and Dana, and entertained the kids with my non-sense quips. And although I like to believe that it was good enough, I wouldn't get myself into trouble next time. Hahaha!

eating timeee!

We also had a simple celebration at home after -- just the family and few of mommy and Faye's school friends. And just like the usual when Faye would invite friends over, it was a riot in the playroom. There was the occasional running around the house too and finally the cry fest when it was parting time. Haha! Why must kids be so entertaining?

catching up series: photos or it didn't happen, so..

As they say, photos or it didn't happen. SO HERE! A ton of photos from when we visited Manila Memorial last November. Wait, no raised eyebrows! I already said we're catching up right? Pagbigyan 'nyo na koo! In due time, we'll be back to regular programming. I promise!

So anyway, All Soul's Day is really something we commemorate. Although, unlike the other families, we don't usually stay for long at the cemetery. We just set up the flowers and candles and then proceed to our favorite portion -- hamming up for the camera. I actually have yet to know any other family that takes as much photos as we do. It's crazy! On the good side, it makes my 'documentation' a lot easier and everything's intact in this humble blog. *aww* Haha! Of course there's eating in between takes too and some more eating before heading home. Yun lang talaga yun eh, picture-kain! Hahaha! Mom would even have to remind us to pray. "Oh, nagdasal na ba kayo? Picture kayo ng picture!" Hehehe! And yes, our parents talk to us in a way like we aren't all grown-up. Mehh.

Prior to this, Mom, Anit, Dana and I visited Sanctuario too together with our dear granny but I refuse to post photos from that day 'cause I look ugly as heck. Or maybe not really. It's just that I haven't chopped off my hair then and it feels weird seeing photos of my then self. Haha! Whatever.

Speaking of hair transformation, this was the first time I went out after the big bold move a.k.a chopping off my mermaid hair and thankfully, I have no regrets. Damang dama ko sya! Hahaha! So expect my new do for all the coming posts. More late 2014 kwentos are in the queue. Hihi! Have a good night, peeps! :)

catching up series: heyyy, I have short hair now

I have to do this for my own sanity. I mean, write about the things that happened while I was away -- from this blog, at least. So you already know I have a little bag business. Teepee, yeah? Now, I have another revelation to make. Haha! I FINALLY GOT MY DREAM HAIR CUT. Yeyyy! Hahaha! I'm acting like it happened just recently when the truth is I made the bold move back in November. Five freakin' months ago but heyyy, I already said we're catching up here, right?

But wait. Let's dig down further. Two years ago, I said I wanted to have my hair permed. I love how beach waves look on me hence the decision. But who am I kidding? Merely five months after I wrote that post, I contemplated a pixie cut. Indecisive, that's what I am. :P Then salon day came and to my despair, the stylist won't let me have my dream hair cut. Rebonded hair issues, ugh! My only consolation then was my newly straightened hair. And fine, I was a little happy with my shorter do too.

Fast forward to a year after.. I pursued the pixie cut I've been wishing for. It was really something big for me 'cause I was never the experimental type when it comes to my hair. I always had long hair actually -- well, maybe except back when my mom was still deciding for me. Haha! That's a totally different story. So anyway, imagine the terror as I sat down the salon chair; I was so nervous. Even my niece cried not just once - BUT TWICE! - 'cause she's not used to seeing me with short hair. She was hugging me too almost the entire process. Hahaha! I told you the hair cut was kind of a big deal.

the inspo I showed the stylist slash our neighbor :P

And since I suck at taking selfies, I had to steal {and crop} a photo from my first public appearance :P just to have something to show you. Hehe! I really love how it turned out although I have to admit it's a little difficult to maintain. Medyo close na tuloy kami nung kapitbahay ko. We used to be just civil with each other. Haha!

that kontrabida smirk you make when you feel purty harhar

I'm itching for another hair cut as we speak. I'm eyeing an even shorter do ala Michelle Williams 2014 but we'll see. I should have been warned this hair thing is addictive. What now?!

TEEPEE | bringing thailand to the philippines

I have to admit I'm having a hard time incorporating blogging into my system again. Kasi naman, may hiatus pang nalalaman. Hehe! But I have high hopes I'd get my rhythm back. Else, I would have to quit altogether. I know, me and my unconventional issues.

I digress. I've mentioned Teepee already, right? Tonight, I'm bound to talk, erhm, write about it in detail. Here we go. :)

TEEPEE, WHAT?  So my brainchild, Teepee, is an online shop that carries bohemian bags imported all the way from Thailand. We {I really should say "I" because it's just me, myself and I working on Teepee but I find it odd to use "I" when talking about the biz sooo..} started with the embroidered ones but we'd love to offer vintage and patchworks too. Also, those with faux coins, beads and lotsa pompoms -- the more offbeat, the better. And then from bags, who knows we might bring in clothes and accessories too. Hmm.

The first three photos I took.

SO WHY TEEPEE?  It was once "No Biggie" but I was forced to rebrand -- and make new accounts, goodness -- after an unfortunate incident happened. After all, from preloved stuff I slowly shifted to selling boho bags. Going back to the question, why Teepee? Drum roll please! *badumtshhh* Simple! Because our bags are made in Thailand and imported to the Philippines. Thailand-Philippines. TP. Teepee. You got the emphasis? Hahaha! I honestly find it witty although some might disagree. Good thing it's my business -- MY BUSINESS. Haha! Kidding. :P

ESTABLISHED WHEN?  No Biggie excluded, Teepee was established December of last year. 2015-ish actually 'cause I worked on it during the holiday season. It's funny how having a business was a goal of 2012 {so three year ago. yuck!} and just when I almost forgot about it, I chanced upon the website of my supplier in Thailand. See? The universe has wonderful surprises sometimes. Yes, even for the lazy butts. *cough*

WHERE IS TEEPEE NOW? Things are still slow for the biz right now 'cause I started with the mindset "nothing serious". Oops! But heyy, I'm blogging about it right at this very moment and this could mean I'm taking it a little more seriously now. Although, I'm not oblivious to the fact that anything boho is difficult to market thus, no grand expectations. Just a temporary bread and butter 'til my work ban gets lifted. DON'T ASK. I'd love to remain a mystery. Hahaha! Hints are scattered throughout this blog though. Ang papansin ko minsan. HAHAHA!
