yet another fun teambuilding

Good morning Universe! :) I unintentionally woke up early today and while I'm still too lazy to crawl out of my bed, blogging is the only productive thing I can do.

Last month {yeeess, one month ago na lang ang backlog ko}, we had our teambuilding in Antipolo with our previous teammates. What happened was, our team had to ramp down because of budget issues. Only four of us were left to suffer.. oops, i mean to continue with the upcoming releases. :) The others either transferred to another team or to another project. Good thing we still have the budget for everyone, we were able to afford an out of town teambuilding.

M & O were the organizers. They found 3B Resort in Antipolo as the most feasible venue, affordable and accessible. I'll update you guys with the rates and whatnots tomorrow night. As obvious as it is, I know nothing since I'm not the organizer. When I'm not the organizer you really can't expect me to care. Hahaha! :)))

the team plus our ampon

We hired a van going to Antipolo so we managed to bring dinner and tons of chips and drinks. We had spaghetti and pancit malabon from Ambers, pizza from Pizza Hut and as I've said tons of chips and dips. That night was a night of alcohol and MSG. That's healthy living as it's finest.

To keep the night from being boring, we played Taboo and Guesstures. Taboo before swimming and Guesstures after. They also boozed in between. Take note, I said THEY. :) Funny how private people share almost everything about their life when drunk. On the other hand, makulit ones multiply their kakulitan about ten times when drunk. One puked endlessly, one had aching stomach, one slept just about anywhere. I love you guys. :*

gutom na gutom na gutom :P

playing Taboo

don't drink and swim :P

Playing Guesstures

We slept for like 2 to 3 hours only then we had to checkout from the resort. We were dropped at Eastwood, ate breakfast at Jollibee, travelled home and probably zoned out as soon as we hit our beds.

good morning, Antipolo

Another one for the books. No matter where life takes me, I am definite I'll never forget this team. And yes, I speak like I have plans of leaving.

Breakfast na tayo? :)

hundred islands: cliff jumping, anyone?

Can I have a woot-woot? I just did another life threatening activity - CLIFF JUMPING!! But before we proceed to the story of risking my life, which by the way is rather usual, let's begin where we should begin. :)

This Hundred Islands trip is our summer teambuilding slash S and C's despedida. J and O planned this trip while M's the one who rented the van. So here's an interesting story. We left our office at around 6pm and decided to just stop over somewhere for dinner. So there, we were happily eating at Mang Inasal when an armed soldier {as in may mahabang armalite, c'mon} entered the place looking for the owner of our SUV. He said that the van was carnapped and that its passengers were kidnapped. We were like WHHAAAAT?!! Okay lang kami dito, anong problema nyo? And then the investigation begun with a crowd of other policemen and officers. Turned out someone who saw us at NLEX reported such and it was for crying out loud, a FALSE ALARM. We went on with our trip knowing that we were still under surveillance for our safety. Definitely a prelude to our cliff jumping adventure.

while everyone was obviously worried -
there I was making pa-cute to the camera :")

Fortunately, we got to Alaminos safe and sound. Our accommodation was O's friend's lodging. By the way, we got lots of perks due to the fact that O's a friend of the owner's son. {ano daw? asawa ng kapatid ng ninong ng kapitbahay nyo. hahaha!} Thanks big time, D. :)

By 4am, two of us went to the market to buy our food for the entire trip. If I understand things correctly, nagpaluto lang kame sa kanila for the entire day. Obviously, I wasn't part of the organizing team so katuga lang ako - kain, tulog, gala. :D

good morning, Pangasinan ☀

Our first stop was at Lucap Wharf where we got to buy pasalubong and other souvenirs. I got myself a t-shirt and a fan. It was so hot even at around 6 or 7am hence the pamaypay. I hate sweating! I don't know how many times I already said that in this blog. :P

By the time, we got back to our house, breakfast is ready. And mind you, with presentation pa! We ate somewhere at the back of their house with a nice view of the sea. For breakfast, deadma kame sa dining area ng bahay nila.

on the way to Lucap Wharf
Hundred Islands says welcome. :D

my talikodgenic shot plus the view plus our breakfast

Our Hundred Islands trip started at around 9am. I guess we were all still feeling maganda and gwapo by that time, we were so fond of taking pictures - group or solo, just shoot! We probably all knew that towards the latter part of the trip we'd look wasted from all the snorkeling, trekking and spelunking.

fresh pa? magpapicture na!

The first island we visited was Century Island. It was just a cave and all we did was easy spelunking and take pictures, what else? I was so thankful I was wearing comfy knit top and shorts and I didn't have a hard time transferring from boulder to boulder. Independent ang peg ko. Hi M! Hahaha! :*

when you have gone to Sagada,
what any other cave can make spelunking difficult?

Our next stop was Governor's Island. We had to trek to get to the viewing deck. It was tiring but worth it as it offers a stunning view of the other islands. Perfect spot for pictures too. See for yourself. ♥

didn't I tell yah?

Then it was lunch time. We were supposed to have it in Children's Island but the place is too crowded already. We had no choice but to take our lunch in the boat, anyway it wouldn't make our food less pleasing. Gutom na choosy pa ba? :P

bangus, tahong, pusit and adobo for lunch

The third stop is where I risked my life for the nth time. It was in Imelda Cave, Marcos Island {sounds cheesy, eh?} M and K were the first ones to try cliff jumping. They just called us from where we were swimming and told us to jump as well. They were the first ones to jump again and then I followed next. You perfectly know I can't swim in deep waters so imagine the thrill. Prior to jumping, I told K to save me in any case my life vest escapes me. Sigurista ang peg.

In case you might wanna know the feeling.. it was like two seconds of free falling and then when you finally splashed to the water, you won't know whether to complain about your hurting butt or the saltiness of the water you have swallowed. No regrets though. It is a lifetime experience.

1..2..3.. JUMP!

right before cliff jumping

Fourth stop is Quezon Island. Prior to docking to the island, some of us went snorkeling while others stayed on the boat for some rest. I proudly belong to the 'others' group. Upon arriving in the island, we headed to the clam viewing area. It was in this island where we stayed the longest. And while the others were just chilling in the dining pavilion, S and I were soaking ourselves in  salt water and under the scorching heat of the sun. It was a literal 'everything under the sun' kwentuhan for like an hour.

clams, corals and starfish
plus photographs in the dining pavilion

Fifth Island, Cuenco Island with its matching Cuenco Cave. It was a just a quick photo-op since we were going back to the lodge already.

my almost silhouette shot :)

We also passed by Paniki Island where hundreds of paniki reside. Syempre, pass by lang talaga ang drama sa island na 'to. It was amusingly creepy.

bored? count the bats! teehee

Going back to the lodge, we had dinner first then the despedida drama. I dozed off after we had dinner but J woke me up for the said activity. I was so sleepy that after C {or Carol as revealed by the picture :P} gave me her message, I fell asleep again. They were actually joking since the start of the trip that my sleeping time is part of the itinerary. You know me so well, guys.

we'll miss you, Carol :*

Then finally, they woke me up again as it's time to head home already. And guess what I did on the way home.. sleep of course! Hahaha! Boo! You sleepyhead! :P

By the way, I'm leaving you with the expenses, albeit discounted. The itinerary on the other hand is quite obvious for a day trip. Fine with you? Yes? Oh, good.

Yay! Done! I'm excited for my champorado. :))

because we're cool like that

Oh yeeesss! We are sooo cool. The cooleeesstt among them all. The best team ever. Awoo awoo awoo! Haha! And now I'm excited to let you all know how cool people go about their teambuilding. You ready?

Numbah1. Make sure you're done with work and go out of the office early on a Friday night. Fill your tummies with pizza and pasta from Pizza Hut Bistro, Gateway.

Numbah2. Drive all the way to Laguna to your reserved private pool. It has to be this nice, ok?

Numbah3. Have your group pictures taken at the poolside. This is very important because these will be your last decent photos for the night. Believe me. :P

Numbah4. SWIM. Dahil ano pa ang point ng lahat kundi kayo lalangoy dba? Haha! You can also attempt to have cool pictures in the pool but do not be too hard on yourselves if you fail.

Numbah5. Booze!! You can do this while eating tons of chips, singing in the videoke and  playing pinoy henyo and charades. Feel closer by sharing your most kept love stories or the lack of it. Gah. Sleep without taking a bath and brushing your teeth. Haha! Not applicable to me though. We can always have exceptions, right?

Numbah6. Wake up with your hangover then have your breakfast. The team that eats together, stays together. :P

Numbah7. Look your best for yet another round of group pictorial. Have your OOTD shot just because you love your shirt so much. ;)

Numbah8. Drive to EK because it's just 5 minutes away. Ride the EK Extreme and feel your soul get out of your body for 3 seconds or so. Ride Space Shuttle, Up up and Away, Dodgem, Flying Fiesta and Anchors Away. Give the mala-perya games a try then realize you wasted your money. Boo!

Numbah9. Before heading home, stop-over at Racks and fill your tummies with baby back ribs this time.

Numbah10. Hurry home because your mother has been calling you and you weren't checking your phone. Sounds trouble but not really. Peace mother. :*

PS
Pictures stolen from my teammates's Facebook account. Shhh.
PPS
I know I still owe you the itinerary of my Mindanao trip buuutt.. I am so excited to post this.. sooo.. (: ♥

summer's last hoorah, galera

Backloooog, yikes! It's almost rainy season and I'm still blogging about summer's awesomeness.

I was in Galera mid-May with my teammates. 'Twas originally tagged as a teambuilding activity but being tagged as one made it next to impossible due to security policies so we said it's going to be personal and there's nothing they can do about it. Bleeh. >:p

Moving on, we chose Tamaraw Beach Resort over White Beach Resort. Definitely the wisest idea for a bunch of people who wish nothing else but to unwind. The latter is rather crowded with party people. I should know, I was there two years ago.

back in 2009, kaputian days :((

To get there, we took Jam transit from Taft. It only took us around two hours to reach Batangas Port. Depending on the traffic {and your fortune}, this bus ride can be as long as three hours. From there, we had to ride a ferry to Tamaraw Beach. The ferry ride felt longer than the bus ride. It took as roughly three hours I guess. Unless, I was just that bored to have felt like that.

As we arrive in Galera, those who chose to stay in White Beach were dropped off first. Only our group was left in the ferry by then. No wonder White Beach is that crowded.

special trip to Tamaraw Beach :D

After we had lunch, we waited for 2pm to be accommodated. We really planned to get there ahead of our reservations because we were informed that as soon as our rooms get vacant {and cleaned, of course} we can use them already. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. We had quite a long idle time.

Then finally we were able to freshen up and get dressed for the beach. As usual, photo-ops first before anything else. Again, I owe my OOTD shots to ate Pholet. :*

left: goin' there, right: beach get-up

ku-yu-ey gels, doing what they do best

I wasn't able to join them go swimming instantly because it was my time of the month. Malas lang diba? I only got to swim during the night so for me the trip was kind of bitin. I was hoping that we'd still get the chance to swim the next morning but turned out we had to get ready early to catch our ferry ride back to Batangas.

Morning came and we were ready to leave the beach life behind. While waiting for our ride, we had our obligatory group picture. Our official photog, Jabey, was finally in action again but we only had few shots since it was hot already. We opted to stay in the cottage.

our obligatory group shot

It took around an hour before our ferry came. But I am most thankful for that waiting time because that was when I felt like a real beach bum. I just lied in the massage bed, watched the sea and felt the breeze.

beach buummiiinnggg ♥

...and then the ferry came. and then my Galera story ends. Teehee. Biglang inantok. Phhbtt!
