camiguin-bukidnon-cdo: itinerary, expenses and some link loving ♥

Hi Sey! Oopsie, I mean hi dear readers. Haha! I take promises seriously so here I am spending half of my day digging my braincells for this post. See how much I love my 80 followers? ;)

But waaaaaiiiitt! Before you even look at my own version of our Mindanao trip itinerary and expenses, disclaimer muna. :D I honestly did not take note of how our trip went on hour by hour. At one point I thought I can't do this post anymore because a month has passed and I already forgot the details of our trip - time we woke up, slept, had lunch etc. etc. Then a light bulb moment happened! Yung tipong may *ting* sound effects pa.  Haha! I suddenly remember pictures have timestamp. So the rest is history, alam nyo na pano ako nagcome-up sa IT ko. I feel so bright. Hahaha! :)))

As for the expenses, I listed them down but I accidentally deleted the note from my phone. Matalino man ang mantsing, minsan tanga din. Haha! To the rescue are my travel buddies and the receipts I kept. Buti na lang basurera ako.  At thank you sa travel buddies ko.

And this is where my disclaimer ends. Go take a look at our Itinerary. I hope you guys get something from it. Enjoy your Camiguin-Bukidnon-CDO trip. Higit sa lahat, wag kalimutan ang pasalubong ko. ;)

There's moooore! If you missed my Mindanao series, I'm listing down the links here. Go read 'em.

Got to go! I'm finalizing my goals for 2012. Boo! I know it's March already. :P

day2: camiguin white island tour and chill at bbc

Sorry guys for making you wait too long for the continuation of my Camiguin Adventure. That is, of course, assuming that you are waiting for this. Ilusyonada ang peg ko today so please bear with me. ;)

So for our second day, we woke up at around 5.3oam. Just enough for them to witness the sunrise. I might be doing my morning rituals then because I wasn't able to witness it myself. Not that I really wanted to see it. I am not so much of a sunrise-sunset fan. Or let's just say the sun in general. I prefer cloudy days since I really hate getting all sweaty and sticky. And.. and.. what was this blog post all about again? Haha!

via Sheena's iphone 4s hahaha :P

Moving on, we only had hot choco to jump-start the day. We decided to take out our free breakfast from BBC and eat on the island. Kuya Teddy fetched us from BBC and by 6:30am we were off to White Island.

good morning, Camiguin

It was just a quick ride to the barangay where Kuya Teddy dropped us off. From that point, we took another 7-minute boat ride to the island. By around 7am, we were greeted good morning by Camiguin's famous sand bar. Blue skies, blue sea, white sand. The island is so pristine, so bare, providing you no shade at all. Hello sunburn talaga!

Camiguin's pristine island

While the boatman {we obviously didn't got his name, sorry} was setting up our shade, we  were having the time of our lives posing for the camera. Di alintana ang gutom, ngiti lang. But of course, in between my takes, I was hiding in the umbrella that manong bangkero was setting up. I really tried not to get sunkissed for this trip but obviously I failed big time. Umuwi pa rin akong negra.

Anyway, after he was done setting up our colorful-palengke-style umbrella, we immediately took our breakfast. I didn't worry so much for my tummy as I have no plans of wearing swimsuit. I'm the type who adjusts with the crowd so no swimsuits for them meant no swimsuit for me too. Haha! So I said to my Chanda Romero {oh no, I am sooo gay}, "you can grow as big as you want." :))

on our way to the island plus our brekky pichurs

What came next after our breakfast is an endless pictorial. Honestly, I contemplated between that and sleeping in my sarong under the shade of our colorful umbrella. You know I'm a sucker for just-bumming-around moments. But then the former won. Nagfeeling mowwwdel na lang ako with them.

big thank you to Dwin for taking our pictures

moment ko. dahil blog ko to. :p

We left the island at around 10am. We bought pasalubong back in the port. I got my siblings ethnic necklaces. I also bought daing na pusit because the vendors just wouldn't stop bugging me. Sa dami ng lumapit sa kin, feeling ko sumigaw muna sila ng kuyooog! Hahaha!

We also stopped by a pasalubong shop to buy some souvenirs. I got myself and my niece matching shirts. I also got my parents their matching shirts. One day I'll have them wear it together. Couple shirts para malakas maka-bagets. ;)

Kuya Teddy also offered to take us to Katibawasan Falls but we opted to stay in BBC, which by the way stands for Bahay Bakasyunan sa Camiguin. We wanted to make the most of our stay there as we loved the vibe of the place. Check out the photos below to know what I mean.

We also had our lunch in the place. We had pork sinigang, tortang talong, camaron rebosada and some sweet chicken dish I don't even know how to properly address. :P The food's not bad. Though I'd love it better if we had crabs, baked mussels, grilled squid.. and the list of sea food goes on. Hahaha! Someone's craving for seafoods this very moment. Nomnomnom. ",)

thank you Lord for the food in our tummies

We checked out from our room at 12pm but they allowed us to stay further in the place. We had to take our shower in the common restroom but we didn't mind at all. It was a good 3-hour extension of our bum lives - which basically composed of swimming, taking underwater shots and falling asleep in a hammock.

We all agreed it would be fine going back to Camiguin just to stay in BBC. Head over heels in love with the place. ♥

practicing my oh-so-great swimming skillz

this is life, really

At around 3pm, we left BBC. Our package included our ride back to Benoni Port where we'll catch the ferry back to Balingoan Port and finally to CDO. I'd say it was a sulit yet bitin stay at the resort, if that makes sense. Itaga nyo sa lahat ng pwedeng pagtagaan, babalik ako dito. Hahaha! Now, who's coming with me? :D

thank you, BBC

That's it for today, folks. I still have one more of this series. Keep reading 'coz I'm gonna keep writing. Haha! ♥ ;)

day1: camiguin countryside tour

Creative blog title, yes? Haha! As promised here's my pasalubong na kwento. Because that's all I can give you guys as pasalubong, my never ending stories. :D

As much as I would like to spare you from the not-so-good part of this trip, I won't. Can you guess what unfortunate event happened? Can you, huh? Clue: Something to do with our flight. Hahaha! You guessed that right, we missed our flight! Pakshet!  We're five in this trip but only Dwin and I booked together, meaning only Dwin and I missed our flights. Booo! Our departure was 7:10am, I came in the airport at 6:40, Dwin came at 7:00. The plane boarded at 6:25. To make the long story short, we had to rebook our flights and that cost us more than two thousand pesos EACH. So much for waiting for seat sales, huh?

Anyway, we learned our lesson the hard way. I just wish you learn from us na lang. Okay? Be in the airport at least an hour before your flight, that's the safest I guess. Thank you though to Cebu Pac for the lesson. Isang apir naman jan. :P

So moving on, we took the flight departing at 8:10am. We were in Cagayan de Oro at around  9:30. Sheena, Jelai and EA were already waiting for us. Kuya Gammy took us to Balingoan Port via a Toyata Grandia. We had lunch on our way, big thanks to Jollibee. It was a 2-hour comfortable ride to the port.  We were there at around 1:00pm.

finally landed in the city of golden friendship
my most expensive flight to date :P

Balingoan Port

From Balingoan Port, we took the ferry bound to Benoni Port. It was an hour away from Balingoan and the ride was worth P173. I swear the ferry was super slow, baka dahil hindi siya super ferry. Nyee. Haha! We were in Benoni Port at around 3:00pm.

Benoni Port

From Benoni Port, we were picked up by Kuya Teddy. Yes, the famous teddybird2005 of PEX. They suggested not to check-in first because it's late already. So, we started immediately with the Countryside Tour. After all, our first stop was Sto.Nino Cold Spring.

our ride for the country side tour

Our first stop was nothing but perfect since by then we were already feeling greasy. Instant ligo! And as its name implies, it was really freezing cold. I'm lost for words now just trying to emphasize how cold it was. Hahaha! I had a hard time dipping in the water because aside from being cold, it was deep too. Five feet I guess, 4'9 lang po ako. Add to that the fact that I can't tread in the water. Looooser!

just before our freakin' cold swim

felt rather close to nature

Our next stop was Gui-Ob Old Church Ruins. According to Kuya Teddy, the church was damaged due to the eruption of Mt. Vulcan. All the while, Jelai was blaming Mt. Hibok-Hibok for everything Mt. Vulcan did. Barking up at the wrong tree, miss. :P Back to the church ruins, we saw an old chapel, a century old tree, ruins of the convent and ruins of the bell tower. How many times did I say old and ruins? Haha!

old.old.ruins.ruins. :P

Third stop was the Sunken Cemetery. It was kind of creepy actually. If I remember it right, the sinking of this cemetery was Mt. Vulcan's fault once again. Namimihasa. :) And probably due to the fact that there's not so much you can do here, the guides have loads of picture tricks. Too bad we're a bunch of KJ people because only Dwin gamely posed for them. I'm not sharing his pics though, spotlight should still be mine. Bwahaha! :))

just imagine, party party ang tombstones sa ilalim. iscaaaryy

Last stop was the Walkway to Old Volcano and Stations of the Cross. Quick photo-ops only as we were starving at this point. Patay gutom in other words.

Finally, we had dinner at Terrasse International Ristorante. Please do not get fooled with the name as its nothing fancy. They served our food a little long but nonetheless they're worth the wait. We had seafood pizza, bulalo, cordon bleu, sweet and sour fish and lechon kawali. Indeed, international.

haggardo versoza na ko at this point

After dinner, they asked us if we still want to visit Ardent Hot Spring but we declined. We were all too tired and obviously haggard. You know it's a mortal sin to get caught by the camera looking not-so-fresh. Right, girls?  ;)

Aside from the hot spring, other spots we weren't able to visit are the Katibawasan Falls and Soda Pool. So in case you guys are planning a trip to Camiguin, you better be there EARLY. Take it from us, especially me. Haha!

That's it for the first part of this series. Hope I did not bore you as there's more to come. And please please click the pictures to embiggen {oopsie, too much internet slang}. My blog template won't allow me to post pictures larger than how I posted them. Ick. Is it time for template change? :S
